So I'm not an NBA fan, but I'll follow a TINY bit in the football offseason like it's nicorette gum. So is Chris Paul going to sign long term or are the Hair Clippers just renting him for the season?

Also just heard Brandon Roy is RETIRING at the age of 27 due to knee injuries. Add that to Greg Oden and it SUCKS to be a Blazers fan. Wow.

Oh, and how much does it suck to be the Blazers' GM? I think they still have to give Roy 63 million dollars. That'll come off the salary cap, but that's a friggn' tough pill to swallow. Worst contract ever?

Blazer fans have been unlucky with real talent and injuries/health. LMA may be close to being the next blazer down. He already had a heart procedure done. Best of luck to him.

Nothing he can do about it. Brandon Roy was a stud when he signed that contract. No one could've seen this coming. He is, however, regretting the day he took Oden over Durant.

Durant, Roy pre injury, and Aldridge would've been bad ass.

playing devil's advocate here... Oden was the right call for Portland since they had LMA & Roy who were to great offensive weapons.

Both guys were outside guys with LMA having inside scoring. However, he's no threat on the defensive end around that time and isn't a baller on D today. Oden brought, what was concieved as a dominant presence in the paint on both ends. Shaq was still around the LAL IIRC, but so was Duncan, Amare, Dirk and few other bigs. Portland didn't have a big to fight back with. Oden was suppose to be that big.

It was a truly hard call to make, if the blazers didn't have Roy, they would've gone Durant. Durant also had serious questions whether his body, frail, strength, lack of, would exceed in the NBA. He's proven that theory wrong with hard work and talent.

True. Oden wasn't just a dumb pick like Sam Bradf--- uh... I mean Jamarcus Russell (I didn't say it Dodub). It was just bad luck like Ki-jana Carter.

So I'm at this convention in Palm Springs, CA, and I had to use my air conditioning while driving around today (12/30/'11). There were people swimming in the out-door pool at the hotel. I wish I could stay 'til about March. Ducks have it all figured out!
