I was wondering that too, with the franchise tag on Brees they probably can't afford Colston. Though his price tag went up since Steve Johnson has a new deal and then Welker, and D Jackson were franchised.

I'd be more interested in signing Nicks than Colston.

RG, in and of itself, is probably a bigger need than WR IMO (if Morgan is to return that is). I think if the Niners had Nicks on the team starting at RG last season and he were a FA Niner fans would be clamouring to bring him back before signing a FA WR. Snyder is a FA, and he's a worse starter than Morgan IMO.

I say go with a legendary offensive line and roll the dice on a WR or two in the draft rather than re-sign Snyder to play RG and get an expensive WR.

I'd have more faith in Kilgore at RG than Boone.

I'm not saying it would necessarily be a good idea to sign Nicks, but I definitley think if the Niners are to sign someone to a big contract it should be he if a big money WR is the alternative.

Nicks is going to get a lot of money even for a guard, but I have a feeling the Saints will do everything they can to sign Nicks and let Coltston walk. Have the Niners sign Meachem and have Kilgore and Snyder battle it out at RG. If the Saints sign Moss, it will definitely an incentive-laden contract.

boone has shown he can play LT or RT, kilgore hasn't really done anything

Glazer said his sources told him Randy lit it up. Ran about 45 routes and looked like the old Randy. Left people floored by his performance.

Ray, any chance the Niners would be interested in Moss? I read that asides from the Saints, there are two other teams that are interested.

Likewise, league sources tell sportsNOLA.com that Moss had an "off-the-charts workout" that included running the 40-yard dash in the 4.39 to 4.4-second range. One of the sources in the report described Moss as being more impressive than anticipated and in great shape.

I doubt his character is a fit.

I'd love to see Moss in the Red & Gold. It will be interesting to see how things workout with Brees & NO as a Brees to Moss connection would be deadly.
