Apparently the 49ers and Colt's agent re-did his contract to give Colt a better chance of staying on the team. He is making vet minimum now.

I'll bet that is what the 49ers had in the back of their minds when they did the re-signing. I always thought it was a strange signing because he is not very good.

How? Wasn't the pick they gave up on the condition that he makes the team? If they cut him, there's no compensation. If he's traded, they get the compensation back.
