The Colts had to basically tank a season to get Luck. I would rather have Cousins and the four draft picks we gave up that year. As we would likely be in a much better position.
That wasn't the question.

That was the answer. I would rather have Cousins, and I explained why.
The answer to a different question. Draft picks and tanking are pretty irrelevant to which one you'd rather have right now.
Not really. I would still rather have Cousins.
That's insane to me (and 99% of the population) but I'm not surprised lol
Why?? Luck has been a 4 year starter and has basically stayed at the exact same level he was at as a rookie.
Cousins has improved even though he hasnt been a 4 year starter.
This time last year, you would have started RG3 over Cousins as well too right??
I dint think improvement is nearly as important as where they are now as players and Kirk cousins argument is based solely on an 8 game sample. That's not a good start.
And I think I was fairly indifferent on the 2 at this time last year. My hopes for either of them were pretty minimal.
Where they both are as a player right now is easy. Luck... the golden one has NOT improved on his game at all. With four years as a starter, he is slightly better than Cousins. He has the luxury of coasting on his name and his draft stock.
I would rather have the guy who even if he gets the big contract, I expect will continue to work and improve his game. Luck to me is a more hyped version of Eli Manning minus the hardware.
I dont think it's fair at all to say he hasnt improved or to think he won't work to continue improving. I would prefer the guy with 3 solid or better seasons and 1 injury riddled year to the guy with half a good season.
Luck has barely improved on his game with 3.5 years of starting experience and ZERO chance of being benched. You would take him over Cousins because he was the #1 pick in the draft and has been solid over most of those 3.5 years of starting.
Luck has a higher floor, but I think he has reached his ceiling.
Work ethic doesn't warrant $20M + per season. I am sure that McCoy also works hard but lacks the overall talent. If not extended in the next few weeks Cousins just needs to prove that last season was not a fluke - as Redskins fans we need to be honest & understand that is not a given (even though it may be likely).
I would think that they have not agreed yet since both sides are probably (rightfully) taking a firm stance. No worries - they will get this worked out either in the next few weeks or sometime over the next year (unless Cousins gets hurt or stinks up the place in which case it won't be warranted anyhow).
Drop the mic on what??
Would you rather the redskins had kirk cousins or andrew luck?
I would say work ethic is probably the most important trait of a great QB. While that alone doesn't warrant 20 mil, KC brings more than work ethic.

For a guy who has been telling us to turn the page on the entire RGIII thing you appear to be having problems following your own advice.
IF the QB already has all of the skills then I would agree that work ethic is important. I was just stating that work ethic alone does not merit a huge contract. Also - with Cousins it is not a matter of working hard - that is a given. The big question mark on him has always been his tendency for turnovers. He appears to have turned the corner in this area, but he needs to prove that in the coming season.
Again - I am in Cousins camp & I very sure that they will work this out one way or the other. I am just stating that I can understand if the Redskins want to see a slightly larger sample before committing to a very, very large contract. I can understand how both sides might not be willing to commit at this time.

If it was 2012, I would rather the redskins had andrew luck.
But it's 2016, and I'm glad the redskins have kirk cousins.
