Holy Shit did he really? I never seen get that high on the gun maybe 97 but that it.

Gameday had 3 pitches at 97mph ... Kendrick (2nd inning for a called strike), Pujols (4th inning for a swinging strike) and Hamilton (4th inning for called strike). One of them on the gun shown on TV could have been 98 for sure. With all the off speed stuff Yu was throwing tonight a FB at 97 or 98 must have looked like 110mph.

Rewatched Yu's start and he did clock out to 98 a couple times and 97 also plenty of times. One of them was close to 99 MPH! 98.54 was the highest. Man its gotta be nice to have mid to high 90s fastball when you throw all that junk :D

That is all the road announcers could talk about. How having an offspeed that he can control in the low 60's and then 3 fastballs he can throw in the upper 90's, it's just not fair for the hitters.

Don't care what we paid just to talk to him, he has been worth 2x that already.

I hear yeah. I love when we play in the east because I can get to bed at a reasonable hour. Cut out last night after the 6th inning just because I'm a zombie already.

I was about the same, 6th inning is about all I can make it through when we play the Angels

At least the final game in Seattle was a late afternoon game, three 9pms in a row is killer

Yup. Glad they head back to the central and don't hang around for an OAK series.

Amen! This is the issue that TEX should have taken on when ownership changed. It is a whole lot easier to get a high value TV contract if it is on the air when people are awake. MLB by 'sentencing' TEX (and now HOU) to the ALW kills the ad revenues and thereby the value of their TV deals.

Would have been a good time when Nolan and Greenburg led the TEX buyout to force MLB to either restructure the ALC to make room for TEX and force ARI to the AL to replace them. DFW is a big market town and TEX helps LAA, OAK and SEA draw attendance and viewers ... and so TEX if not reassigned to a Central Time Zone division ought to have been assigned a piece of each West Coast TV deal to replace revenue not earned in its FSSW program that doesn't air until 9pm local.

This issue is why I was surprised HOU new owners wanted to move from the NLC to the ALW without getting a big paycheck from MLB.

I thought Houston was paid 50 million by MLB for making the move.
