What a BOSS AB by Donnie there. 8 pitches and he takes him for a double.

I really like this lineup.

If only that YAZ dude could hit...

This isn't Marco Gonzales' night.
(Pondering whether using a late round pick on him in the fantasy draft was the wisest choice).

This isn't intended to be an overreaction to today's game, just a general feeling based on last year and what we've seen so far in spring and today: I really like this offense. You have guys top-to-bottom working the count, some guys with pop peppered in, great match-up abilities. It's very enjoyable.

Gotta think Flowers is MarGon's last batter.

Man if Slater could be for real. He’d be like a homegrown Yaz. Old but eventually clicks.

Better late than never. For awhile there, he was looking like another Schierholtz/Lewis/Parker/Williamson/Bowker type. Hopefully he can stay healthy, because he looks to be blossoming whenever he's stayed on the field

Gausman just threw three heaters by Murphy. I think I saw 60 pitches through 5?

Before the game, Kapler said that Gausman was all stretched out and not on any sort of pitch count.

Of that list Williamson had me the most fooled. Really thought he was going to be a beast. I mean poor guy had injuries and bad luck, but still. Schierholtz I thought had a good chance as a strong #4 guy, good defense and streaky hitter. Bowker I was pretty young to watch carefully but don’t remember either way (excited or not).

I'm a farm system homer so I was excited for all of those guys. Williamson, I still believer, never got a good chance and just when he was getting the chance, he got the career ending concussion. That lawsuit case will probably take a while to get settled, if it even goes to court.

He's starting to throw a lot more pitches now. Seems the M's are getting more patient. He may be lucky to go 8 full. Still, that's awfully good for Openiing Day!

Yeah, Gausman's also starting to miss location targets as well
