Only thing I'd add to the difference is he added a 6 slot trade his 11th for my 17th... But to be honest it's about needs... In both trades I needed to make a move... Last one it was I needed pitching, this one I needed to get rid of a team... I remember Nos saying it wasn't a big deal he just didn't like it... If I didn't need to make a move I wouldn't have but I had too, so I got who's labeled the greatest Guard ever maybe lineman... The difference in slots is because people tried to get position players first because of names but Oline is maybe the most important position on a team...

I'm done arguing about it Bro, I never wanted the trade taken back, I just wanted one rule. It's done:suds:

I know if anybody loves to trade it's you... I remember one draft you made one trade and as soon as the ink dried you announced another... In all honesty I like the trading, I just don't like when other people feel cheated... I felt it was fair... IMO unless it's extremely over the top position for position, everything else is preference... Getting perhaps the greatest guard in nfl history was like trading a great 1st for a Cy Young pitcher... Right or wrong it fit my scheme... I'll leave it alone just wanted to chime in since it was me who was involved but it all went down while my phone was dying and I was out... I agree either trade or don't... I like the trades but I understand if others don't... My idea is Ritz Nos and UK be the judges of trades so there's no question it's fair... Nos will say no, Ritz will say yes, and you will be the 3rd voice of reason... You know a whole lot about every sport and are usually involved, I'm sure if your not involved in a draft you wouldn't mind looking over a proposal and give your two cents... Just my thoughts...:suds:

For all you trade enthusiasts, Steve DeWitt here has been a professional for a couple decades now. Some great pointers.

I appreciate that, but I really think all or nothing is the best way. Reason being is someone will always end up feeling cheated if we rule some as fair and some as not. That's my opinion anyway. One other way we could do it is to have a point system like Ritz suggested, but apply those points in player trade values as well.

Example, if the #1 overall were 5000 points, and each pick dropped 50 points, then the 10th pick would be worth 4500, the 20th worth 4000. So if say you wanted #1 at 5000, you'd need to be within 100 points, so 5000 and 2000 for 4000 and 3000. But use the same numbers AFTER they are drafted, meaning every PLAYER traded keeps the same value from their draft slot and it doesn't just become subjective to the judges opinions on players traded:noidea:

Ignore the rounds listed. Those times slots are what matters. If there has been a trade then you would be picking in the time slot of the guy you switched with. However we all have seen guys draft fast so you could be OTC before your time slot but wont be skipped until your time slot expires.

FYI I have already created a 20 round/ 12 Team Trade Value Chart. The hard part is getting the excel sheet to format correctly onto the SportsHoopla site.

Going back to something we briefly talked about before.

I'm curious to know how everyone is going to vote on this one. If you decide you are going to match teams up against each other and decide that way I think we wasted our time in doing an all time draft.

EX... 255 pound Mike Webster against 365 pound Ted Washington... Webster would be destroyed on every play.

However if you simply look at how the teams are put together and judge on the greatness of the players I think that will be a more fair way to judge a team.

Just wanna see what everyone thinks...

Just my opinion...

For me personally, I match them up on the field, but give the players of the past full credit for their abilities, meaning. If a guy like Webster played today, with his work ethic and the supplements available, he'd play at 310 and be a more technical Alex Mack, meaning he would do as well as today's best centers against Wilfork, meaning he'd still need help, but would compete

If we weren't going to match them on the field, we should have established that before the draft, because I'm guessing a lot of guys would draft differently

:agree: Todays players are bigger and faster so you cant put them head to head against players 20+ years ago. I am looking at pro bowl appearances, their all-time ranks if a WR,RB,QB,TE. If they are tops in sacks not what they would do if you put them in a game together because you can't compare the athletes of 1970 to the athletes who are currently playing. If you got Ronnie Lott you have the best Safety in the game but I have heard Lott and other hard hitters wouldn't be as dominate today because of all the penalties and new rules in place. That's not how I look at it. You cant judge Lott in what he would do in 2014 but what he did do when he played in the 80's. Just my opinion on the matter.
