I was taking Bosh if Eric didn't. You were not getting him

The Bosh thing is interesting in this pretend league. If we're rating teams on "immediate" & "in 3 years" -- I don't think his blood clot problem should count against him for this year -- but if it forces him to retire, I think it should count against him in the 3 year ranking. (the same way that Tim Duncan almost definitely will be retired in 3 years)

My thoughts exactly.

Myles Turner was a good pick @gordontrue

I debated between him and Lopez, but since I have George I thought I'd surround him with some more immediate help.

im not 100% sure but i think there was only 1 NBA team that had 4 guys go in the first 2 rounds of this draft...and there is NO WAY you would guess it unless you looked carefully.

Golden State had 4. I think everybody would guess them first.

MKG deserves to go 3 rounds later?

there is one better perimeter defender in basketball and he plays for the Spurs. Hes 22....him running with LeBron and taking that defensive burden off of LEBron would be ridiclous

He can defend, but there are other wing defenders available at this time who can shoot also. LeBron needs shooters around him. Right now, you are locked in to a big lineup with a non-shooting wing.

Also, if I had LeBron, I would not be worried about going young

Lebron ... this year and some last year ... occasionally gets caught playing "James Harden Defense" ... having a very nice view of the ball, but losing his man.

I think it would help if the Cavs (at least occasionally) put him on the other team's best player to keep him focused & challenged on Defense. (against players like Wade, Leonard, Thompson ... not Curry though, Durant)

But when he has to he locks down on the defense especially recently. He needs shooters around him and guys that can put the ball in the hole. Seems like teammates play good defense if they have a good history of it or not (JR Smith is a good example, mediocre defender but really improved on the Cavs defensively)

Valanciunas already? FUCK. He was suppose to fall to me. My plans of fielding an all white starting 5 are ruined. I already had Hayward and Love.

*flips over the board*

Screw this. I'm going home

This is on point, mostly. LeBron might be the best on ball defender in the league, but he is not great when it comes to guarding shooters who move well off the ball. He tends to over help and not stay connected. I think the harden reference is a bit of an exaggeration. LeBron's issue is not effort as much as it is

If guys like Jonas, Iggy, and MKG are off the board this early, I suppose I don't mind drafting this late in the 3rd round.

Did you see how good the Raptos became when Jonas came back? They started playing the best ball in the history of their team practically. Hes a 23 year old center that does everythign youd want. he is a guy i WOULD take over Tristan Thompson....he helps his team win, is a great guy in the clubhouse, has a PER over 22.

and MKG is simply the best rebounder at his position and the 2nd best defender on the wing in the entire league after Kawhi Leonard- in TODAYS NBA- where guarding on the wing is important- he is a freaking stud. Especially with that athleticism and ability to run the floor and finish- and again- you will not find 5 better leaders/clubhouse guys in the sport. I would love to see him out on the break with LeBron---- and a PG that can pass---

Thes are def 2 of the best young talents in the entire NBA- and unlike guys who were just drafted- they have had a 3 years to develop and are just starting to enter their primes- what i think is the absolute ideal time to draft a guy for a situation like we have made for both this year and the next 3 years

sure taking Gasol and Wade would have given a HUGE advantage THIS year- but at their ages, they will not only be seriously declined- but likely retired in 3 years....in 3 years MKG and Valuncuinas will All Stars among the best at their positions in the NBA.

I was looking at the some of the other best wing defenders in the league.....Bradley, Tony Allen, Ariza, ---- none had nearly the potential and ability to be a 1st team defensive guy for the next half decade plus like MKG.

LeBron is showing signs of decline though. JV is a solid pick, but I do believe you are sacrificing now for what might happen down the road. LeBron will still be good in 3 years, but probably not a dominant force.

I was ready to take Haywood if he slid to me for the 2nd pick.

I really was just taking the best available players -- but it would have been interesting to team Haywood with Gasol. I thought it would be appropriate since I'm drafting for the Celtics.
