Fuck it, let's throw in Zubac and Hart as sweetener too. All the Lakers need is Kawhi to get the dominos falling.

Hart can stay. Guys like Thomas Bryant and Zubac would have to leave in order to get that 2nd max contract space anyway.

Trade makes sense if you think that all the young Lakers players have a good chance to be stars.

Reads like a decent deal for every team here, be interesting to see if it actually happens.

I'm pretty high on Ball still personally (which I hate to admit since he's a Laker), he's exactly the kind of playmaker/pass 1st PG we need. Pair him up with Booker on the perimeter and have Jackson on the wing & Ayton down low... that's a squad. Lots of length too.

Essentially PHX gives up 16 & 31 for Ball, and has to sit out FA this year due to Deng's contract, but next year they have Chandler & Dudley's contracts off the books & the year after Knight & Deng, so they aren't going to be strapped for cash long term. PHX can't draft 3 rookies this year, they have enough 19/20 year olds.
If any of the players are untouchable - it would be Lonzo Ball in my opinion and If any player for the Spurs is untouchable - Kawhi Leonard is untouchable for the Lakers - there is no way in hell that happens.

I don't like giving away a young core that are going to be good in the near future for a guy whose long-term health remains in question and a potential FA who is entering that window that father time eventually exacts from all athletes. Pull Kuzma from the deal and it makes better sense.

Feel like Phoenix gets screwed completely in this deal, but if it's coming for a Suns fan, then I guess it works.

Ball would give them their PG and they could use the #1 pick on Ayton. Ball would be the perfect pass first PG to feed Booker, Jackson, and Ayton.

Not with the Deng contract gone they wouldn't. Deng + Ingram/Kuzma/Ball is approx 33M going out, with just Kawhi's 20.1M coming in. Lakers would have more than enough room to take on George and Lebron. They would still lose Randle though...

HEAR ME OUT...

All these teams hate each other, but I think this is a good fit...

SAN: Ingram, Kuzma, 25th pick (LAL), 31st pick (PHX), Future 1st (LAL)

LAL: Leonard, 16th pick (PHX)

PHX: Ball, Deng's contract

San Antonio reloads, LA gets rid of a bad contract, get a top 8 player, and moves up in the draft for their guy Zhaire Smith, Phoenix gets their PG of the future.

LA does give up their entire young core basically, but if they are confident they can land PG then it's worth it alone imo, esp. if Zhaire falls to them at 16.

It actually makes a ton of sense to me.

I don't know about the Suns accepting a deal where they give up 2 picks to get Zo/Deng's contract. Seems light on their end.

PHX is almost guaranteed to package up their picks regardless, they've already stated they will not add three more rookies to their roster, so either pick 31 will be a draft and stash, or used to move up w/16 & 59 + future picks to try and land in the back end of top 10.

Deng's contract essentially forces them to sit this year out of FA, but next year they have 25+ mil coming off the books, and the year after a ton more with Deng & Knight's contracts expiring.

Lonzo-Booker-Jackson-Chriss/Bender-Ayton with cap space for a max next summer and another max the summer after that seems like one hell of a foundation to me. It all depends on how you view Lonzo, who I'm currently still high on despite his poor shooting and batshit insane father.

There are lots of reports of teams looking to deal picks to attach it to expiring contracts. Wouldn't this be a better way to go? Take on a Faried and the Nuggets pick or even inquire to Memphis about taking Parsons and the #4 pick? Wizards and their pick? Lots of teams looking to make financial moves.

If Memphis has #4 up for grabs then I would take on Parsons contract and send ALL the picks they wanted; 16,31,59, next year's Milwaukee pick, etc. to get it done IF Luka is there at 4, but that's far from a guarantee.

As far as the Wizards & Nuggets go, as I stated earlier the only way they'd ADD picks if it is was to help them package them together to move into the top 8 or so, making those moves by themselves don't make sense unless it's part of a bigger plan. Lots of directions they can go, but I expect them to be super active one way or another, just don't think they draft 3+ rookies.

Defensively, Ayton and Love are actually UPGRADES over what they had at those positions last year...... which is sad. Those 2 would also snatch up twice as many boards as they got too so at this point why the hell not when the upgrades are substantial offensively, lol.

Bender & Chriss both show flashes of brilliance every now and then but other than that they've both been meh. They are still both 20 and have had 2 coaches already going on 3 so I haven't given up on them juuuust yet.

I agree Lonzo is untouchable...no one wants to touch that guy with a 10 foot pole... :pound:
