Best team from the drop tonight. Physical, yet collected. Great puck movement, good defensive postitioning, and help. Solid, all-around opener from the Caps.

This team looks and feels different.

3 things on this pass amaze me:
(1) The vision of Olesky to see the man.
(2) That Backstrom pulls back his stick knowing the intent of the pass.
(3) The way MoJo transitioned with the puck into the zone with the pass behind him.

Great goal all around.

Also, what lit a spark under MoJo? He was absolute garbage early in the year and has FINALLY looked like he did last year in the last 10 games or so. Maybe the benching sent the message. Either way, I'm glad they figured out a way to get he and MP85 both involved in this team. Both play a valuable role and it looked like it might be one or the other for awhile there.

It's been more like the last 20, almost 25 games. During the seemingly 3 days of training camp he picked up a concussion when he collided with OV.

He didn't said anything, but about 3 weeks into the season he finally told the training staff. He then got "benched" while he was recovering. Didn't really come out until he was back in the lineup.
