FIFY. Don't act like EVERY SCREEN is illegal.

Sure not every play but if you actually went back and looked at film you would see more than a handful of plays each game and most are pretty clear. It isn't just a few.
More teams don't do it bc 1. maybe they tried and they weren't getting the calls 2. it's not the right way to play basketball 3. their coach/players aren't smart enough to run the plan effectively...is my guess.

There's no way one team gets a pass on lots of illegal activity that others don't. You just notice theirs because you're looking for them

By the letter of the rule, the majority are (by all teams). Some of these "screens" are more better blocking (and holding) than the NFL lol.

By a similar token, most "lock-down defense" is basically permitted holding and pushing.

That too, but the traveling rules were starting to expand then I believe. The 3 pt shot was introduced in 79/80 too. Today's players would be lost without that 3 pt arc.

Yes good example. Both sports would literally be ruined if they called holding or illegal screens to the letter of the law. So they stick to egregious stuff. I'm fine with it.

The problem arises when they call a ticky-tack screen in one game, then allow grappling in the next. There is no consistency.
