LOL.

IMO, his time in Philly will be defined in this next series. If the Sixers win against the Raptors, I think the Sixers will resign him. If they don't, then he walks off.
Right...and who knows if Minnesota would have kept him if they thought he would sign. Butler asked to be dealt.

Jimmy butler- 7th on the team in points scored--- Sixers win

only loss- the one where Butler tried to win it himself.

I gotta say- hit the nail right on the head.

do you think my analysis is wrong?

Very wrong.

Butler wasn't trying to win the game, he was doing everything he could to keep it from being a blowout. Your bias is in using the scoring stat without the proper context.

Game 1 had passive Ben, cold JoJo, Harris and Redick couldn't shoot, etc.
Butler was simply filling in the gaps because for that particular game, because nobody could score.

I think he's a chameleon that fills multiple roles (stopper/scorer/closer/veteran leadership/etc.). However, when he has to do everything (previous teams), it's just too much. If anything, I think he can reach his true potential on a team like the Sixers. Most of us are just worried about his age and the length of the contract and if it's for max money. Honestly, 5/100 should grant him financial security, but there is a chance he still wants to be they 'guy' and another team can offer him 4/max $$$. Best of luck to him, then.

LOL.......he turned down 4/100 from the Twolves.

a team that strikes out on the major guys like Kawhi, Kyrie, Klay, Durant is definitely going to give Jimmy at LEAST 32M a year--- probably 35.

id take him at 20M a year a too, no doubt about it- but i highly doubt he takes about what Ryan Anderson is getting paid.

Over-rated, will be on his 4th team in 5 years, will be overpaid, and would certianly not be the choice as the 1st or 2nd on any team with real aspirations.

Sixers gave up some assets to rent him for a few months- good for them. If they are smart they will let him go and be some other teams overpaid problem.

Maybe it's just me and nothing against the Timberwolves, but 4/100 from the Sixers means a lot more than 4/100 from Minny. It's up to Jimmy. Does he want to get paid or does he want to win a ring.

You are spewing these comments like they are facts and also are ignoring other facts.

He is only on his 4th team if he leaves, and he asked to be traded so it was his choice to be on his 3rd team.

Anderson not one but there are plenty of good but not great players in the 20 mil range, which is why Butler will get far more than that. Never mind stud 3 and D guys don't grow on trees.

Nailed it.....Everyone knew they'd offer Love a max (and he was worth it) and he wanted out.

you want to make a bet that he is gone? name the terms.

How many great players do you know that have played on 4 teams in 5 years? Id love to see a list.

The argument would be made that he had no shot of winning a ring with any of those teams.
This is his first legitimate shot at competing for a ring.
We will know soon enough if it's about the $$$ or the ring.

Not one to make bets on career choices of people with whom I've never spoken with people I don't know.

If he stays it's 3 in 5. Lebron was 3 in 6. Not quite the same, but he's pretty good. And you keep forgetting he asked for trade #2.

From what I've seen here I'm sure wiggy can come up with an anti-Butler spin no matter what he does.

And that's fine.
By his logic, Butler will sign for the max $$$ he can get, regardless of how good a team is.
That can still happen.

If it comes down to 4/130 with Brooklyn or 5/100 with the Sixers, I think he stays.
If it's 4/130 with the Knicks and they already have KD, then I'll drive him to the airport....

Is he from that area and/or buds with KD? Yeah....that might be tough to top.

wont that happen when we see what he did?

Never mind I can't really be wrong as I never said what I thought he'd do. I don't know him. He's a grown man. He will be a FA and earned the right to make the choice he wants.

I only said AS OF NOW he has not been on 4 teams...and that you ignore team 3 was HIS choice.

i think Jimmy Butler would go and play in Mongolia for an extra 30 million dollars.

if you think hes signing for 20M a year you are bat shit crazy. Thats less than what Harrison Barnes makes.

Jimmy wants to get paid. No guarantee he can get a ring with any team especially if KD were to stay in GS but he WILL get paid what he wants if he decides to do that.
I mean if they get to the Finals this year, he could accept a little less but I doubt it. If they lose next round, he is gone most likely unless the Sixers decide to pay him instead of Tobias
