I thought growing old would take longer
Someone check on BTM to see if he's OK.
Not a good day. The US government shut down real money poker online, the Bruins lose again, not a happy camper right now.

They just showed a stat that said the Bruins are 0 for 26 lifetime when trailing in a series 2-0.
Not a good sign.
Worth mentioning that Boston is 0-26 lifetime when trailing the Habs 2-0 in a playoff series. Ending that streak might make a Finals run more memorable no?
Haven't gotten to watch either game...what's the deal? Offense? Defense? Judging merely by numbers I'd say offense. I know Seguin wasn't in the first game, was he in tonight?
Well it's hard to keep track of all of your posts. There are just....so...many.
I think the one thing that should be clear to the B's by now after two games is the Habs aren't going to be intimidated. The two times Boston really crushed them this year is when the Habs allowed them to get into their heads and played the Bruins' game.
Boston needs to take the focus away from all the after whistle crap and just get back to playing big. The series is still winnable.
I'm not surprised at all. Montreal is the quicker faster team. The big bad Bruins can't hit what they can't catch.
Agreed and it should be that way with the Sabres and Flyers but the Sabres played like a bunch of idiots tonight. You can't give teams PP's all night and expect to win. I didn't get to see the Habs V Bruins games but from what I have seen the Habs are playing "their" game and it's paying off.
To be honest, 4 of the Habs 5 goals have come as a result of Bruins mistakes, and the Habs have taken advantage of them. I'm not making excuses, Price has stood on his head, but the Bruins have to realize you can't score a goal if 95% of your shots hit him in his chest. The Bruins still aren't getting someone in front of Price on most shots, Montreal gets the puck out of their zone and up the ice better, and they're playing better in the neutral zone. For some to act like the Habs are beating the Bruins with their speed, as if they're out skating them, is ridiculous as that's not the case.
The Bruins have been their own worse enemy and Price has been outstanding. As far as them playing their game, I think both teams have been playing their game, which is why the games have been so exciting. From what I can tell, and correct me if I'm wrong, The Bruins have put more pressure on Price than the Habs on Thomas. As Matt has pointed out, their breakout is atrocious and for that I blame CJ. It's been like that all year, but I will give credit to Montreal's fore-checking which has been good. The bottom line is if the Bruins don't clean up their mistakes in their zone and change things in the offensive zone, it'll be a short series.
The Wings have had some poor games due to the breakout this year said:This is what I keep saying about what the focus should be on for the B's. If they work on their passing game this becomes possible. Without it they have to rely on what they have already been doing. This is why having Seguin on that third line is so important. Yeah the kid makes mistakes but he also knows how to use his and Peverley's speed to make plays. Ryder sucks by the way. Bad call by CJ sitting him.
I dont think there is any way Montreal can win Game 3. But if Boston does lose, they should just cut their Balls off. A few reason IMO way this is...
1. Its At Montreal, if the bRuins cant get up for this game, then they shouldnt have even made the playoffs.
2. They are the better team. But this Montreal team plays with Heart (And what I mean by that is you see Montreal players elevating their game, while Boston is pretty much status quo). Sometimes knowing you are good and playing to That Expectation is not enough for Playoff Hockey.
3. Its At Montreal II, everyone hates bRuins. The Us vs. the World mentality is just the Cure part of reason #2.
4. 0-24 (or whatever it is when trailing 0-2 in a series), 0-6 last 6 playoff games, blew 3-0 series and goal leads, blah, blah, blah... I HATE every fucking form of bRuinism but this is just the type of stuff to push an Underachieving Good Hockey team over the top, IMO
5. Boston dominated the 2 2nd periods, and IMO the easiest sport to gain wins on the road in the playoffs are Football and Hockey, maybe this holds true and on the road the bRuins will dominate the 1st and 3rd periods.
6. They are pissed off, The Most Pissed off team in the Playoffs at this moment.
Combine everything and I expect Boston to play their best game of the Year on Monday. I know this will sound weird but if Boston loses it will not be because Montreal beat them, it will be because they quit or couldnt "dig deep enough" to find that something extra.
Plus I remember when we won the first 2 on the road vs the Rangers and then lost four in a row in 96 or 97, forget which year..
One thing though, This is easily the funnest group of Canadiens I have ever watched, the way they play reminds me of how I played football, completely selling out every play. Its been a long time since I had a Favorite Hockey player (Muller was my last) but I love the way Cammalleri plays, plus he wears #13. The guy is just clutch, since the playoffs started last year he has 14 playoff goals in 21 games and 19 regular season goals in 67 games.
Agreed... Montreal has definitely elevated their play, and I wouldn't say the Bruins have just remained at the same pace, they dropped off. They have never looked like the same team thus far in the postseason. They are not challenging Price at all... Doom/Comeds, I am not taking anything away from the Habs, they look great, but Boston is making them look that much better by not showing up.
With that said, if they lose tomorrow, not only will they be the most pissed off team in the NHL, which it is all their fault, but they will have the most pissed off fan base. This season had, and still has, the "this is our season" mentality. I have not lost faith, just a little ticked.
You know I hate you bastards, but for the most part you guys had our number this season. We really only had one quality win against you. People keep saying in this thread that both our wins were because we muscled you guys... The 8-6 win was due to us just man handling the Habs. That 7-0 win I attended, was a complete dismantling of the Habs as a whole by the Bruins using just smart hockey. If they don't return to that play tomorrow night... Goodbye CJ.
