You're right that the Spurs can disappoint in the playoffs. However, when they get to the finals, they tend to not disappoint. The Spurs almost seem to treat the first 2-3 rounds of the playoffs like an extension of the regular season. That has bitten them in the ass a couple of times.

But when they get to the finals, they're 5-1 (and 1 Ray Allen jumper from being 6-0). In their last title season, the Mavs pushed them to 7 games in the 1st round, then they were pushed to 6 games by the Thunder in the WCF before completely dismantling the Heat in the finals.

I'm not saying the Cavs couldn't beat the Spurs, they absolutely could. But I'm not sure the Cavs would be favored in that series because the Spurs would have HCA.
well those yeras they GET to the Finals i think are obviously the years when they have their best teams----- and they have yet to make a Finals in the current iteration of this team---- there isnt a carryover between what the Duncan/Parker/Ginobili trio did to what the team is now.

LA is soft as a they come. In their last title season they were such a different team from right now that its not even relevant as to what they did.

I think this Cavs team matches up EXTREMELY well with this Spurs team--- EXTREMELY well--- Love and LA basically cancel eachother out....after that its a LOT of adnvatages for hte Cavs.--- ESPECIALLY now with Parker out....no way the Spurs could take the Cavs out this year...i just hope they win a game or two against the Warriors.

if i stub my toe i am "not at my best"

if i have my arm chopped off in a terrible wood-chipper accident i am also "not at my best"

there are obviously varying levels of "not at my best"

Curry was recovering from a sprained MCL that he should rest for 4-6 weeks to recover from. 2 weeks later they put him out on the court.

LA is soft as a they come.

This is why I don't think they will make the finals and why, if they somehow did, the Cavs would have a very good chance to beat them.

When LA decides to show up and play like a big, the Spurs are damn tough to beat. Especially if Gasol is playing well too.

The problem is, there are too many games where one or both doesn't show up.

Damn don't be so lazy, look the info up yourself.:D I found an article from espn.com (Warriors' Steph Curry out @ least 2 weeks w/ MLC sprain from 4-25-16) that said he got injured during game 4 of the Warriors/Rockets series last year (4-24-16). And the Finals started on 6-2-16.

Pretty hard to fully recover when you're playing vs rehab/resting.
You cant be this naive.

totally agree...

i keep saying over and over again this Dubs squad simply has too many weapons. and as much as everyone thinks of LeClown tbeing being some kinda god hecan't guard everybody. can GS lose? yep. will it most likely happen? i'm just not seeing it...

and before any
of the grease monkey zombies bring up LAST YEAR(for the umpteenth time:rolleyes2:), last year's squad didn't have KD and the Cavs still barely won it by the skin of their teeth. now i DO believe that the Cavs can take one, possibly two games, but 4-7 imo i just don't see it...

Very true. They won by the skin of their teeth an even THAT series shouldn't have gone the distance if Warriors didn't lose Green for a game or Bogut wasn't injured ( I think Curry was hurt as well). .

Truth is, EVERYTHING had to fall in place just for the Cavs to beat the Warriors before Durant. Now the Cavs will have to pray for a complete miracle.

Now they are even far better offensively with Durant and even better defensively with Durant. Last year's team were 1-2 time champions Champions. This team is a Dynasty.. Big difference.

The Cavs haven't gotten any better. But the Warriors sure have

So you're implying there were lesser injuries on one side or the other? And who & what injuries are you talking about?

About game 4 of the first round. And the Finals start in June.

Did Curry get the recommended recovery time for a sprained MCL? Are you a doctor? If so, can you tell me what are the ramifications of playing with a sprained ligament and how that affects one's recovery?

Someone mentions Kyrie/love injured for 14/15 Finals, everyone says Who cares? Warriors would have won anyway

Curry plays with a slight injury in the 15/16 Finals, what a fucking hero, God bless you light skinned messiah.

So when Durant got injured in early March, because his injury was related to what Steph went through last year. He could've just played through it. Because I mean your sprain will eventually recover in the same time whether you're resting or not; this is basically what I'm grasping from the many doctors that exist on this forum.

Seems like Curry can't win. If he takes the full time needed to recover then I'm sure people would've had opinions about why he couldn't return earlier- especially for the Conf Finals and Finals. But, if he comes back earlier than scheduled somehow he's a miracle child that doesn't need recovery time. Go figure.

Agreed. And I don't diminish the Cavs' title from last season and put an asterisk on it. Its sports, injuries happen. But saying that the injury occurred in late April (4-6 weeks) from when the Finals started, and saying he had time to rest, where we all knew he was playing after 2 weeks is narrow-sighted as shit.

Well in all fairness Love isn't the Cavs' best player- Curry was at that time. Also, LBJ & the team had shown up to that point that they could win without Love. So I think those determinations were on point.

But then Kyrie got hurt, which is also part of my post, in fairness.

And in fairness, the last two finals, Curry hasn't been the Warriors best player either.

It's been Draymond and Iggy, and this year it'll probably be Durant.

I only mentioned Love because there wasn't a poster here who didn't think losing Kyrie was a big deal & really hurt their chances.
