I mean @Mecca if the Warriors think they can get away guarding Love with McGee- they will get burnt to a crisp by that.

At least Love occupies Draymond defensively- which is important.
Mcgee is not a perimeter defender.

But, neither is Love.

Both would get smoked if switching on the opposition's pg.

But, yeah.....McGee would have his ass glued to the bench if Love was at the 5.

The Cavs would go at West too.

Draymond is a totally different story.

Look at the Cavs depth in the front-court. There is a lot of redundancy on the Cavs roster... but not with Kevin Love. His size, post-game and defensive rebounding is critical.
Against the Warriors?

Who does he guard in the death lineup?

Draymond?

Smoked.

Durant?

:pound:

It's not my intention to bash K Love.

You will need him in the ECF and the first 3 quarters of every Finals game.

But, when the traditional Center goes to the bench in the 4th, that's when his defensive liabilities could be a problem.

Pretty cool clip of TT explaning how he studies missed-shot stats and shooting arcs in order to be a good offensive rebounder...

Why would JaVale be guarding Love? Is Love now the Cavs' center?

lol, i wish they could count on Love doing that all the time.

It does crack me up that the best play of Love's career is defending the 2x defending MVP on the perimeter- to the point where the 2 time defending MVP has to GIVE UP the ball--- gets the ball back, and then bricks a 3.

that is absolutely a LEGENDARY defensive play by Love. --- especially considering his rep. as a defensive liability.

ya gotta give the guy credit for that play. He played it amazing. the Showers got the exact switch and matchup they wanted- and Love tip-toed is way to immortality there.

I think a player like Love is the PERFECT match-up for West. West defends players well that play with their backs to the basket. Now protecting the rim? That's not his strength.

in a lot of lineups- yah.
Well then my money is certainly on the Dubs. You have to remember, they switch on just about every defensive possession. And when the Cavs move Love to the center I'm sure that's when KD will play the 4 with Dray @ the 5.

But, I don't think it's a bad match-up for JaVale either. I can tell you one thing, Love will be a jump shooter in that match-up because JaVale is athletic enough & strong enough to cover the paint guarding Love.

The many doctors that exist in this forum...:wtf2: All I did was mention an article that I ran across. My bad for posting an article about Steph's injury rather than making something up.

It was really geared more towards Wiggy. I mentioned Curry (with the injury he sustained) because (dependent on the grade of the sprain) the time for a player to recover is typically 4-6 weeks. Curry only rested 2 weeks then was thrown out on the court. Wiggy made it seem like he had plenty of time to rest based on when the injury concerned and from when the Finals started.

Understanding Steph Curry's Grade 1 MCL Sprain - In Street Clothes

The estimated recovery window guarantees Curry will miss a part of the second round but how many games that will be remains unknown. During the 2015-16 regular season at least 11 MCL sprains were publicly diagnosed. The list includes several notable point guards including Washington’s John Wall and Dallas’ Deron Williams. Both players sustained low-grade MCL sprains and missed minimal time. Williams sat out just one game while Wall played through the injury without missing any action. However these two appear to be exceptions as the average missed time for the other low-grade sprains was roughly 15 days. The numbers are in line with Golden State’s initial estimated timeline of two weeks.

When a ligament like the MCL is sprained, the injury is often assigned a grade based on the amount of associated damage. A minor or Grade 1 sprain is given when partial or micro tearing of the effected ligaments has occurred. A more moderate Grade 2 sprain is more commonly referred to as a partial tear and is more painful and limiting. Grade 2 injuries are often accompanied by a considerable amount of swelling and require rest and more intensive treatment. A Grade 3 sprain is relatively uncommon in sports but is a devastating injury. Grade 3 injuries result in a loss of function and mechanical stability and often require a long period of inactivity and in some cases surgery.

The NBA's reigning MVP suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Golden's State's Game 4 victory on Sunday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowsk

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand thanks for playing.

No that wouldn't happen too much because GS switches defenders often.

so if Kyrie and Love run a pick and roll, McGee is gonna switch on Kyrie and Curry is gonna guard Love????? lol
Where are you getting Curry from? Do you not understand what the purpose of switching defenders is for? It's to avoid this EXACT scenario.

as far as role players go- i bet if and when we see Cavs/Warriors III, Frye and McGee get sent to the bench quite a bit - neither one matches up very well with the other in this series.

are you on acid?

WTF Are you talking about?

IF there is a pick and roll- what? they are gonna switch a guy from across the court? you dont even understand whats going on here. lol

you put Mcgee in the pick and roll- if they SWITCH it- the other guy who is in the PnR with Love switches--- they dont switch a guy on from the other corner you tard.

if Love is playing center and LBJ is playing the 4- what you want to switch Mgee onto LeBron? or Korver? or JR?--- the guys NOT in the pick and roll with Love and Kyrie?

i mean- please -think a little

I don't know. Maybe he guards TT. I would assume Draymond, Iggy or Durant would likely cover the 4 whether it be Love or Frye.

Have you bothered taking a look at how the Warriors rotate on defense? Just curious.
