Even if this blows up in Calgary’s faces the only way they’re really fucked long term is if Huberdeau completely falls off a cliff. Otherwise really the only guy on the roster who’s contract is completely immovable as is like is Kadri. They can cash all these pieces in and rebuild with new management.

It’s win-win.
Exactly they aren't at a place they are f*cked.

Unlike this:

Uh, lots here but in short Montreal gets a lottery-protected first round pick and if they get the 2025 pick it's whatever's earlier between Florida's and Calgary's picks. Steep price but I guess them's the breaks if you want to clear space.

If Moneyhands can bounce back and even be a 20 goal 45 point player for the Habs, Montreal is smiling like a butcher's dog.

/Also, good luck to Sean in Montreal, a shame injuries derailed a very good player for the Flames.

Yeah that should be enough to nab another second rounder at the deadline. Don't know if that's at all possible coming off of two hip surgeries.

Habs now have 5 first round picks over the next 3 years and if they suck can probably squeeze at least one more out of one of their forwards. I hope Gorton & co. suck at drafting lol

The best goalscorers left in FA is Kessel, Rodrigues and Milano.
I guess if you combined the three you might have a useful NHL forward.

You'd have a better forward if you just combined the first two.

what a shit show

According to a report from Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now, there still hasn’t been a date set for the second arbitration hearing between the San Jose Sharks and former forward Evander Kane. The delay was that the arbitrator wasn’t available in July, but this is now late August and there’s still no progress there. The season starts for both the Oilers and Sharks in less than 50 days.

Phil was ALWAYS in the poker room at the Rivers Casino here in Pittsburgh. I can only imagine him in Vegas
