So question: As it stands now the Pats are positioned to get the number one pick. There are two FA LTs that would be a nice fit Cam Robinson and Garrett Bowles if the Pats acquire one of those two players what you feel is the best option with the number one overall pick?

I still feel trading out for additional picks this year and next is the best option. As I stated yesterday I don't feel like we need to draft WR yet again, and we can move down still pick up Edge and DT.

Trade down and get a lot of picks from QB needing teams. Prioritize getting a very good LT in trade or free agent. Pick one in draft also. Picking a WR should not be hard, we just have not been good at it? Will we see any improvement from our young receivers as this year goes on? We need improvements across the board. We need a lot of picks -quality picks like Jacobi Meyers and Onwenu. We need staff that can scout those picks!

Trading down is the best option..........if Wolfe can sign an experienced LT in FA.

Bowles would not sign an extension with Denver. Like most players, he'd like to see what everyone else thinks of him and is willing to dump in his lap.
With the money that the Patriots have and their piss poor coaching and playing, starting with a five year $125M offer might just get pen on paper.

If signing two OT and One WR costs $80M per year, Wolfe will still have $59M to spend. He just can't do the BB scenario and wait until day three to start overpaying for crumbs (Jonnu Smith, Agholor, etc, etc, etc.)

Definitely need to trade back if possible. Only problem is there isn’t a potential great QB in this draft. Several good but no Caleb..Daniels or Maye. The best QB in this draft would be 4th ranked at best in last years draft. If we can’t get adequate value and have to stay put, I would draft WR/DB Hunter from Colorado(that’s if we get a decent LT in free agency). Hunter is a legit #1 WR. If he does play both sides, him on Gonzalez would be an excellent duo.

I don't disagree, but there might some value gained by letting someone a couple picks back leap frog to get the guy they want, as long as a decent pick is certain to be there and the value gained is meaningful.

Generous in your opinion. As I said we have a lot of rookie and second year WRs, a rookie QB, rookie coach, shitty O-Coordinator. We drafted a lot of WRs in the last two years / three years, we need to develop them and stop drafting them all the time. We have to many other needs, DT, LT, EDGE, CB, S and OC.

It is typical for the draft cut-off for immediate impact players around top 15.
There are good and even great players after that but that is the typical line.....

Of course, just talking in general. This entire draft class is considered one of the weakest in years. Doesn't mean there won't be good to great players that emerge from it. Just have to find those diamonds in the rough.

Patriots have to do something in free agency that will allow them to fold the draft into what they have in place.

IF they can sign a LT, CB and maybe a RT and WR, the draft become a much more friendly event. They can then look at where they need to strengthen the team by 2026 and make 2026 their goal year for getting back into a contenders position.

Like I've said about twenty times. Free Agency and the willingness to pay because of the Mass. tax situation can make or break the draft. They've already started extending players and made sure that they are compensated with financial security against the Millionaire Tax. They've taken the correct steps in house. Now they have to be ready to compensate for the 4% added penalty on a $100M contract by making it a $105M contract.

I don't think anyone will disagree with you about signing FAs. But, will the FO go out and do that? I've stated I hope that was there plan going into this year. Been on that soap box for a while. But I'm really starting to have my doubts.

Sure, all 32 will skip rounds 1 to 6, then they'll add rounds 8 to 13 for just this year...
