What is the limit than can be rolled over? If they keep dumping players, how many free agents will want to come to the Patriots and be part of a never ending rebuild?
We're halfway through this season already and this management group has ignore all of the remaining free agents available. Something just doesn't smell right about the way that this roster is being built.

You can roll over the entire amount. Really the only rule the NFL has is that the cap space over a 4-year period must have 89% of that money spent. So you can have a low year but still be fine.

This is what happens most years. The teams with the most cap space are usually the teams without a great roster because they have no one to pay of their own guys. So it means then they have to pay what is called the "Loser Tax" in overpaying big time for average talent and it is not a great way to build a roster. Do you really want to pay say Tee Higgins top-5 WR money when he is probably closer to a #2 type WR? Might have to if you want to improve that WR room. Same with OL. Do you want to pay Garret Bolles top-3 LT money when he is probably closer to 10th best LT in football?

Panthers won yesterday and dropped from the first pick to the third.

Patriots moved up to #1 and the Jags to #2.

Patriots don't have an easy opponent for the remainder of their last 8 games and could cement the #1 before their bye week in five weeks.

You can't train them to stop checking to see if there's a defender where they think they want run after catching the ball. The ball that slides through their hands, hits them in the chest and falls to the ground or bounces to that defender that they were looking at who does make the catch.

This group has a myriad of problems that training will not solve. Catching the ball properly is just one of them. There also appears to be some real attitude issues that Mayo is having no luck dealing with. Two of these guys can't seem to follow rules and make bed check. Can't train attitude.

Yeah I say train them because that's what needs to happen. WR issues go all the way back8 to 10 years this is not new to this organization, so it's fair to question what the hell is going on, and who is responsible for training these young men up. Without looking I think we have drafted at least 8 WRs in the last three years. If we keep buying new stock instead of fixing the issue at hand that means we are missing out on other positions of need.

It hasn't mattered whether it was a first rounder or sixth rounder, they were all unknowns and not in any mock draft prior to the draft. I know that the draft has not been kind to the Patriots for WRs, but they don't have never draft a known quantity. Even the media has had to go look up who they were and what they did, if anything. That's a problem. They've also passed on known quality WRs to draft LBs or DL who never made it out of camp. DK Metcalf, Kieon Coleman come to mind. We can argue all day about the past but we can't change it. They have to change something to prevent from drafting guys that are not up to NFL base lines.

So question: As it stands now the Pats are positioned to get the number one pick. There are two FA LTs that would be a nice fit Cam Robinson and Garrett Bowles if the Pats acquire one of those two players what you feel is the best option with the number one overall pick?

I still feel trading out for additional picks this year and next is the best option. As I stated yesterday I don't feel like we need to draft WR yet again, and we can move down still pick up Edge and DT.
