in my opinion, Josh Simmons is the best LT in the draft and maybe the only true LT in the top 10 tackles.
He may not be ready to start game #1 because of injury.
Several mocks are saying to take Carter or Hunter with our #1 pick -and trade back up to get Josh as a 2nd 1st rounder.
Would you?

Note: Carter is the real deal but we need offense!
After watching Hunter highlights, he is not going to be able to overwhelm NFL defenders like he does the college kids.
He looks like a cornerback to me.....https://x.com/NFL_DougFarrar/status/1893663318528635150

Todd McShay and others have reported a lot of teams have taken him off their board for the 1st round because of maturity issues. Refuses to listen to coaching and doesn't put in a lot of extra work to be great. Huge talent for sure, but comes with that red flag risk of how much does he really love the game.

I would agree that he stands a really good chance to be the best tackle from this class, but not sure I would want to use a top-10 pick on a guy that has maturity issues.

The "maturity issue" comes from one source and oft repeated. Looks like a "hit piece"
We have our own sources at Ohio State and it appears not to be valid.
We'll know for sure come draft day. Every other article I find looks good - even great.
He is way ahead on his injury recovery and will likely be ready for the season.
If our sources say he is the dude, I think we have a Pro Bowl left tackle!

I saw him at the OSU pro day. He looked to be moving pretty darn well considering it has only been what 5 months since his surgery. For sure this kind of information is always tough to tell if it is real or just some team trying to cause the early teams to question if they missed something and letting a talented player fall into their laps. Happens every year.

Not one of the first tackles to be selected among the last decade had arms measuring less than 33 3/8". Via data from MockDraftable, every Pro Bowl and All Pro tackle spanning more than two decades have had arm lengths measuring at least 33 inches.
At his Pro Day, NFL people measured his arms and gave an NFL "official" measurement of 33"

Every Combine Official Measurement has been shorter than every Pro Day NFL measurement.

Who's bullshittin'?

In the iroworkers union we used to give workers a tape measure test.
I trained apprentices on proper use of a tape measure.
The guys taking these measurements are not in construction......

Examining what's in this report takes a little work. You have to click on anything that's emboldened. Like Source. Every team is allowed 30 player visits and each is recorded strictly. None te less, this is interesting and tells you to keep coming back for i8mmediate update.

It gives you some insight as to how the draft may unfold. The 30 Visit is obviously someone of real interest. If you know where those players are expected to fall in the draft ie which round, it give a glimpse of what positions and players may go early to the Pats

I really doubt you can draw very much from the visits. There are so many ways they get info on players and if we can figure out our draft picks the competition can too. If you can figure out our picks, how about going on record for who you think we take?

Teams can do unlimited Zoom meetings as long as they are done at the 1 hour mark with as many prospects as they want. So top-30 visits are fine but reality is they do very little to indicate which players a team is interested in. Zoom meetings do have to be reported to the league office but do not need to be made public because there would be thousands of them released and the NFL doesn't want to bog down the transaction list.

Yeah sure they just bring them in for a bowl of chowder and an Iced Dunkie. Oyyyyy

No one can say definitely who will be picked that's just a dumbass thing to say. But if they bring in 3 OT one that is projected for RD1 and the other two for round 2 is does provide some insight

Teams use top-30 visits all the time to throw teams off the scent of who they are actually looking at. So yes it could mean something and maybe show a position they are looking at but many times won't show the players they are looking at. They could also be using it as an extra opportunity to get a player out on the field and see how well they would handle talking with some of the coaches/FO of the team. There is just a wide range of reasons of why they bring in prospects. I just don't think they are all that important of who a team brings in.

I usually don't do these mock drafts but I said hey why not. Thoughts? Went offensive heavy in the early rounds. Traded back a few times to help next year. Missed out on my Jeanty pick (did you see his pro day? The dude is a chiseled fire hydrant). Also missed my binky pick of Warren.
