With the loss on Sunday (not unexpected) Packers offseason begins.

Some news from Packers exiting locker room on Monday...
  • Tom Clements is retiring
  • Nixon wants to be "CB1" and does not want to return kicks any longer
  • Alexander very much hinting he is not coming back
  • Kraft with some interesting comments.. "we need to wake up"
Depending on site... see 2025 cap space from $51M to $63M. Expect they make a splash again in free agency this year.

Packers free agents for 2025 - Would like to have McManus and Whelan back, other than that no "must resign" names on list IMO.

If team friendly deals I would consider:
  • Myers - thought he had his best year... but also think Packers drafted in 2024 to replace him so do not expect him back
  • E. Wilson - good backup at RB... but really liked what saw from C. Brooks as well and he is on roster for 2025
  • Slaton - liked him vs run and depth on DL
  • McDuffie - good depth at LB

Good stuff. Alexander is a brittle bitch and the Packers should move on without him IMO. Agreed on your choice of FA's but would add Myers to that list. Hope the splash they make in FA is getting a rush edger and perhaps a stud CB like Budda Baker.

Yeah, I’m so over Alexander he reminds me of Jalen Ramsey, has talent but too much of a mouth runner, doesn’t put team first and like you said, hurt all the time.

I think an edge is one of the most important things they need. I feel some of their losses would have gone the other way if there was more QB pressure quite frankly, especially the week 17 Vikes game.

I'd like Myers back as my top priority. McManus and Whelan were good enough to keep; would rather that than go back to the drawing board on both positions.

McDuffie and Wilson round out my 2nd tier wish list. Brooks and Wilson both provided quality support/rest for Jacobs and I imagine Wilson will be "cheap". I would've had Slaton here, too, but his dumb roughing penalty in the 4th Q depreciated his value. We need to get some smarter players on this roster.

Otherwise, it's "take or leave" on the rest of those guys for me.

Dillon is gone. No discussion.

Stokes is a former first round pick who has been either hurt or nothing special. He's got talent, but hasn't really put it together on the field - generating only 1 INT and 14 PD in four seasons. It's still possible he could be a quality player, but I certainly wouldn't want to give him a pay bump to give him another chance. I honestly think both he and Alexander don't want to be in GB, so I expect neither will be next year. Maybe they can trade Alexander to Carolina for a couple draft picks before the draft so they don't have to cut him and eat any dead cap on him.

Any chance Packers can get something in trade for Alexander?

Agreed want him out of Green Bay... he is no longer vested in teams success.

Great player when healthy and vested... but often injured recently, no longer seems to be team player and had incident in Carolina and big contract (Packers eat signing bonus).

He's still got a reputation of being one of the best CBs in the league - even though there's not much proof of it from this season. I'd like to think Gute is gauging interest and possibilities at least. I know I would if I was in his shoes.
