This is an entirely new coaching staff? Maybe McDaniels felt that Milton wasn't a fit?

There is more beyond just coaching staff in the building though. New coaching staffs always talk to the long time staff that have been there through multiple groups and ask what they have seen/heard.

And yes I would agree that McDaniels and the style of offense he likes to run Milton would not be a good fit for that. My main point though with Milton is even with a down year at QB in the draft this is still the best offer the Patriots could get for him. The rest of the league doesn't let QB's they truly believe could be something in the league get to the 6th round. Yes I know I know that good ol guy named Tom Brady. There have been a few undrafted guys as well that have been something. So there are those times someone is missed, but the vast majority of great QB's teams have not missed on. They are taken early. It is why we saw 6 QB's go in the top-12 last year. Those teams knew their guy wasn't making it to their 2nd round pick and it also means they did not like the next year's class so they needed to act now.

Could it be they are pissed with the way he proved himself against Buffalo? It's not a stretch to think Mayo was fired over it. Maybe the team thinks Milton knew Mayo was hurting the team and was selfish in the face of what was in the team's best interests.

It could be. Which then would raise concerns around the league of him being a "Me" kind of guy and especially at the QB position that cannot be the case. I'm sure there isn't just one issue that is causing teams not to believe in him. Could be that while he is athletic it was easy to see watching him play at the college level that his football intelligence is very low limiting his ceiling. Teams are seeing guys like Anthony Richardson fail miserably because of his lack of football intelligence and that his big arm and athletic ability cannot overcome that huge issue.

Could be he wasn't a great locker room guy and believed he was better than anyone was giving him credit for. We've seen that before of teams not wanting that player to become a distraction for the QB they are trying to develop. Most young players all believe they deserve to start in the NFL and their ego cannot handle being a backup.

Like I said tough to know for sure what led to this moment, but the Patriots seemed ready to move on from a guy that was on a very cheap deal for essentially the very same price they got him for in a market that should be pushing his value up with so little competition for QB needy teams. I think this is where fans many times overvalue the players on their own roster in part because we do not know the full picture. The other part is we see the potential where the NFL operates in the what have they actually shown mentality. I remember not too long ago the Broncos having a TE that fans were saying getting anything less than a 3rd round pick would be an insult. He hasn't played a down in the NFL since he left the Broncos.

Maybe he was told to not win and didn't abide?

Maybe Wolfe, and Vrabel were pissed off that we went from the number one overall pick to the number 4 overall pick

Are you ready to get really pissed off????

Yesterday, Friday April 4, 2025 was Colorado University's Pro Day

Travis Hunter was not going to participate....................originally.

The NY Giants had thirteen (13) coaches and front office people inn attendance and took both Hunter and QB Sheduer Sanders to dinner Thursday night. After dinner Hunter agreed to work out on Friday for the Giants and everyone else.

The workout also had a shitload of draft people watching from the stands and the biggies were Kiper, Daniels and few others.

After the workout most of them moved Sanders from #2 to #1. Sanders and Hunter blew them away.

According to nearly every draft and media prognosticator, the Tenn, Titans have already informed Cam Ward that he will be their pick at #1.

Cleveland has decided that Deshaun Watson and his contract will be in Cleveland and have made it known that they will be taking Abdul Carter.

Ther only Patriots' representative at the Colorado Pro-Day was VP of Personnel Ryan Cowden.

The Giants front office people and HC Brian Dabol were seen talking with Cowden immediately following the completion of the workout.

YEP...........................It appears from every single point of view and reference that the Giants want to draft both Sanders and Hunter. Speculation is going through the roof, especially in New York City.

No one has any idea at all what the conversation was about with the two teams' people, but Cowden doesn't have the positioning to promise or agree to anything. The first guess came from the NY Post. 2nd, 3rd, 4th in 2025 and 2026, 2027 first and second round picks.

I won't even try to guess what the hell was being said since I wasn't invited to participate. Neither was anyone else from the videos I saw.

THOUGHTS??????

Why should we be pissed off? There's plenty of game footage of each player and plenty of time for interviews. IMO, pro day workouts are controlled marketing ploys that don't necessarily translate to a game.

I thought Hunter did not work out at least that's what I read, so he did after all. I cannot see them drafting Hunter and Sanders and I think that is media fodder. But if they do they sure are giving up a lot

They had film of several of his catches from Sanders and said exactly what you said. He was not expected to work out but showed up and went through a few drills for Sanders. From the way they talked, he did not go through the typical requests and normal cone drills or sprint timings or any anything else.
