Figured its time for an offseason thread since we're already getting signing news (Adams signed an extension with the Rockets) and the KD trade news is ramping up fast to where it can get done any day now

KD flexing some leverage here. Reports earlier today and from last night looked like Minny was a serious destination, now KD comes out and Minny isn't listed. Also interesting that he's listing the Spurs, but the Spurs seemingly backed off a bit because Phoenix's asking price (which is why the reports Minny, Miami, and Houston were the front runners because they were offering more). I'd read this as KD using his leverage to lower his price and get his way to SA

It's a good haul...

... but what is Memphis doing in the near to mid term?

Looks like they should full scrap and rebuild at this point.

I agree. They got out of round 1 once with this group. Rebuild is the way to go.

I don't think they realized how much of a loss Dillon Brooks was going to be...

Unless I'm missing something (maybe one of the picks was rerouted from somewhere else), this was an underwhelming haul for Memphis.

Basically a role player (who plays same position as your franchise player) in Anthony, a bad contract, and four mid firsts at best...

4 1st’s, a swap and Cole is A LOT for a borderline all-star but he is a huge upgrade. They give up all their future assets…I guess they felt the fit was perfect

East is going to be weak. Bane addresses their shooter/3rd option problem and they also get Suggs back

From a Nuggets fan, KCP at that salary has considerable negative value... Memphis must like his fit with Morant.

Otherwise, they must be expecting to hit on 2-3 of these picks, which is asking a lot.

This gets them from tier one to tier two but not in championship contenders imo
