I have no idea what this post means. Who said anything about a first round pick? The fact is your suggestion is unproven at one of the most important position in football.

What does it matter how he was hurt on one specific injury? Protecting the QBs blindside had always been crucial, this is not new.

You stated we shouldn’t protect our QB with an unproven commodity.

It is important. Maybe that is why KC chose to get Moore…to protect the blindside of a top five QB of all time.

And where does it say I have to have better than Tunsil ? All I need is better then what we had
Daniels led the team as a rookie to the NFC conference game without a top 10 defense. I can't think of a time when that has ever happened. Do you really want him sacked 47 times again this year? Tunsil is a top 5 pass blocker. He is a mid-level run blocker. Let's see how he does and the team does before we discount how Tunsil can help the Commanders.

KC had a guard playing LT last year; Thuney. Moore is probably better than him but he's a lot less proven than Tunsil.

Many of those sacks were the fault of Jayden Daniels, extending plays, not throwing it away, and taking a half yard loss running out of bounds.

I understand and don’t argue any of this.

You can’t argue the importance of a LT for one QB and then completely dismiss it for one of the five greatest QBs ever.

I am saying that KC is taking more of a risk at LT. At the end of the year let's see which LT has given up more sacks.

I am also saying that KC doesn't always make great decisions. If they did they would have had better depth than Thuney at LT. He's played guard his whole career. It didn't work out for them.

I don’t really care if Moore gives up 8 more sacks than Tunsil. I would gladly give up 8 extra sacks to save 5 million against the cap each year and have the draft picks back.

KC has to watch the cap because Mahomes makes so much money. KC decisions must be bad…championship, championship, SB runner up.

Well. I am glad that you are finally seeing my side of things. Nothing like a reasonable debate. lol

RE 8 more sacks. Just remember that he's the franchise QB. He's tough but he's worth protecting. I like Mariota but I want to see him when the team has a big lead.

I agree we need to protect him but he also needs to protect himself.

We need to win.

My issue isn’t that we have Tunsil . I don’t deny his talent either . I think we gave up too much draft capitol to get him . Both things can be true . If he gets a torn ACL. Then you are back to Coleman or Scott . Then what happens to “ all in “ ?

I bet 17 of the 47 sacks are on JD5 . Now both in the run game and the passing game one could easily tell the o/line was found to be wanting

Look at that eagles , their next drafts are stocked with picks to bring guys in or go after young difference makers .

We had a chance at that and we gave it away

The Commanders need more than draft picks to compete against the Eagles. You can only get so many starters from a draft. Also, it takes time to develop a rookie. Veteran starters can help a team match up quicker against a top team.

I am looking forward to seeing these talented and savvy veterans compete. The team has way more quality depth now.

True. He was drafted to play behind one of the best ever in Trent Williams. Laremy Tunsil would have been a career backup behind Trent. Jaylon Moore played pretty well when called upon, particularly last season. His PFF grade was within 2 of Tunsil.

I never claimed he is better than Tunsil. Moore was better than we had last season, would have been an improvement this season, may be an equal to Tunsil at this stage, is only 27 years old, was 6 mil cheaper per year than Tunsil, and we would still have all our picks to get bigger, stronger, faster…and younger.

The franchise would have been better off going that route.

i disagree. agree with fan of pelicans and darrellgreen fan

We agree we need more than draft picks…it is called FA. Then you get both draft picks and players. Instead we traded away the picks.

Does it? Looks like the depth is the same players as last season.

My philosophy is you pay your qb Lt , your weapons on offense and couple of defensive players. Then you use the draft to keep your defense young fast and strong .

Its not about keeping draft picks for the sake of keeping them but it allows for flexibility.

That's only because KC has cap issues with all those big deals to vets and paying their QB huge money. We are not in that position. Are you really going to die on the hill that a team should not make it a priority to protect the blind side of perhaps the most important player in the history of the franchise?

Now I know you are on crack. How many sacks did Jayden avoid by causing an unblocked defender to miss? That is what's called "extending plays". He turned sure sacks into first downs all season.

It’s a two sided sword. JD can extend plays, which we will all gladly take, but at the same time, extending plays can lead to sacks.

I am talking about the many times JD took a less than two yard loss running out of bounds while being contacted rather than throwing it away. This is a statistical sack that doesn’t really exist. JD chose to run it out and people count that against the OL.

i think tunsil the LT is a great pick up as a player i think 4 draft picks are too much to get 2 yrs out of him and pay 21 mil per year on top of that . if he is as good as advertised then one pick 1st , 2nd or 3rd should suffice for his contract and age . if you threw in the 7th or the 4th then i would probably go for it .

now deebo for a 5th is a good deal for us even though he is a one year rental
