As you said top 5 lockdown LTs just don't become available, it would have been malpractice not to be involved. People who are criticizing the Tunsil trade are not thinking it through. Not only did they land a star on a team that had what 2-3 A players the trickledown also makes this a very important acquisition.

Now they can move Coleman and upgrade another position so not only did they make a dramatic improvement to one of the most important positions in football they have now upgraded 2 spots on the OL. The RT or guard who has been replaced is now an important backup adding crucial depth to an OL who had very little depth last season.

exactly. The trade makes the whole line better for basically a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year which should be late in the 2nd round.

tunsil for a 1st , 2nd or 3rd individually was a good deal , 4 draft picks though and 2 top hundreds though is too much .

OK let's go with your logic. The Texans could say no though. Now what? Are you positive that we can get a plug and play rookie close to as good as Tunsil at LT? I'm not. Who is the remaining LT in FA who will be as good as Tunsil this year and potentially years to come?

If you want to win now, that comes at a price. I am actually amazed that Tunsil became available. Other than penalties, there really isn't a drawback to his game. RE his penalties: It's possible that the coaching and offensive system could improve that area of his game.

no i am not positive of that but i can go sign other options AND keep my picks

now why am i under pressure to win now ? i think that is foolish . i want to be the chiefs not the rams

and if we dont win the superbowl this year or next then that strategy is a failure

According to Ryans, Tunsil is soft.

We could have gone after Jaylon Moore who is far younger and would not have cost picks.

I understand what you are saying. Draft picks are the key to long term success. That said, if you don't add a quality LT then you aren't protecting your franchise QB. With Daniels on this team they will always have a chance to win because he makes other players better.

I like the go for it mentality sometimes. You can't run a team that way every year, however, the Commanders have a legit chance even against the Eagles this year.

How soft can he be if he protects his QB well?

but he is a career backup. Only 12 starts over his 4-year career. Certainly not better than Tunsil.

We won 12 games with Coleman / Lucas

True. He was drafted to play behind one of the best ever in Trent Williams. Laremy Tunsil would have been a career backup behind Trent. Jaylon Moore played pretty well when called upon, particularly last season. His PFF grade was within 2 of Tunsil.

I never claimed he is better than Tunsil. Moore was better than we had last season, would have been an improvement this season, may be an equal to Tunsil at this stage, is only 27 years old, was 6 mil cheaper per year than Tunsil, and we would still have all our picks to get bigger, stronger, faster…and younger.

The franchise would have been better off going that route.

Poster are suggest we protect the blindside of the most important player potentially in franchise history with an unproven career backup or Coleman who really struggled with speed edge rushers?

Are they on crack?

Is a first round pick in this draft proven? I would suggest Moore is more proven than that first rounder by your definition.

Was it a protection problem that got JD hurt last season or something else?

Make no mistake about it, I wanted to move Coleman inside. Moore was rated every bit as high as LT last season.

I have no idea what this post means. Who said anything about a first round pick? The fact is your suggestion is unproven at one of the most important position in football.

What does it matter how he was hurt on one specific injury? Protecting the QBs blindside had always been crucial, this is not new.
