I'd take him in the 5th round cause we do need someone backing up Charbs when Walker gets banged up again.
That’s to say Walker is still are starting running back next year. I feel like sharp has passed him up. He’s looked better in this offense and much more productive.

Sadly Walker just can't stay healthy. I'd trade Walker asap if someone can offer a mid rounder for him, but I dunno we'd ever get that. Walker is that kind of player where he doesn't even get contact on a play and walks out with something strained/sprained/torn. Really too bad because he's explosive as hell.

That said, I don't think his running style quite does what Mac wants to do. Mac isn't looking for a homerun ball. He's looking for consistent YPC so the defense can rest and he can control the game/clock. Charbs is also the far better blocker which does play a big role at least with the OC we have for the moment. There's also a buzz around the league with Kenny. I get he was injured his entire first season, but a lot of people thought he was a steal drafted so late. IMO there's your Charb backup.

And let me be clear, K9 is a great player. He just can't stay healthy. And right now Seattle does NOT need to pay RBs or draft more. They need to fix the OL, find a QB, and get the DL some help - because Reed/Hankins aren't getting younger, Jones is a goner, and Williams is now 31... don't let that slip further.

Too many positions of higher priority than another RB contract or draft pick. Get an undrafted one. And it's not like we have to move on from Walker in 2025, but I'd make him the backup and use his change of pace while keeping him fresh.

Walker would be a better player if he had a good OL in front of him. If he goes to the right team he could have some very impressive seasons.

I just don't think he can stay healthy enough to pull it off. Even his rookie year, he was dealing with an injury. Every year he has something pop up. Lot of the times it's not even from a game or he barely makes contact on a play. He just leaves the game, walking off perfectly fine, and then "Oh there's an injury." Or it's just, "K9 will not start the game this week due to an undisclosed injury." which happened in practice.

The guy has too much twitch/torque ability without a body that can sustain it, lol. His carries have gone down every season, although his receptions have gone up (no surprise with Grubb).... but his snap count is declining so maybe the receptions caused more of an issue lol.

K9 is a change of pace back at this point that you probably can't really rely on to carry you a season. I think it's in part why they drafted Charbs, because they knew K9 was limited in how much he could play after he got into TC. That's all speculation from my end..

Now of course it begs the question, "Why didn't you just take an OL then and draft a RB later?" That's for Schneider to answer. I remember actually liking the Charb pick because Walker couldn't get on the field. His most snaps were 575 in his rookie year, and it's gone down ever since. He's not a premiere starting RB at this point. Even Barkley on comparison has over 700 snaps for 5 seasons (3 of which were over 800).

Walker is 92nd in yards before contact. He's not the kind of runner that can get hit early

That's a good point. Could be a RB battle in camp or as like you said, Charbs is a day 1 starter.

McIntosh is better than Charbs, my opinion.
I dont see that. Charbonnet is a poor change of pace guy he needs carries to be effective McIntosh is change of pace guy. He has been pretty effective on a few carries but we dont know how he would do on 20 carries.
Walker is an OL dependent back that needs space to be effective.

Walker just needs to be able to get back to the LoS with out contact. If he can do that he is effective. Charbs can hammer to the LoS even though he isnt really a hammer. McItosh can do both, Hammer or dance.

I saw some people here last year AND this year say Charbs was better than Walker because he had a better YPC average. By that SAME stat that others used ( Not me ) then McIntosh is better. 5.1 to 4.2 almost a FULL yard better.

I want to add this, there are 14 RB that have all ready topped 1000 yards this season and there will be a handfull more that will join that list after this sundays games. 1,000 yard season means nothing really for RB and to that point WR's also.

I think the line should be moved to 1500 yards for "elite" players. 1000 yards in a 17 game season is nothing. Thats 58 yards a game LMAO! 1500 yards is 88 yards a game. 1000 yard season became a big thing in the NFL when there was 14 games in a seasons. ( 71.4 ypg ) They kept that mark as a a "successful" season in the 16 game season but now i think it's time it changes. To much SportsHoopla for a 1000 yard season when there is 17 games.

when you say "SportsHoopla" it adds sports to the front of it haha

I agree. Back in the 80s, 1000 yards used to mean something. Then when we hit the 90s I used 1200 yards as the benchmark for a very good season. But to your point, 1500 yards should be the new benchmark for a great season for running back & WR. Especially with the 17 game seasons like you mentioned.

Feels like a schneider qb, big and athletic but raw
How? The only 1-5th round QB he picked was polished, Athletic, NFL ready and undersized.

So me saying "He doesn't fit the type of QB that JS picks" would also fit. I bet if it was between Leonard and Dart he picks Dart.

If we choose a QB they will need a few years to sit and learn so who is the bridge QB with upside? It's not Geno.

So you guys are ok with drafting a qb in the 5th round in hopes that he pans out two years down the road to be our qb? What are the odds a 5th rounder pans out? That sounds like a horrible plan…
