Absolutely limping to the finish line. Case in point tonight - he has 41 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists and they lose to the Pacers. At home.True. In fact, he's the only one playing on that team right now.

They will be out in round 1 if Murray doesn’t get back in the lineup.
Yup...usually not good business to give non-All Stars max contracts. You can weather one of those types of deals but not two. Then throw in some key guys being down with injury and depth already being an issue before the season started. Just sucks to waste such an incredible season by Jokic. They really tied themselves up while ruining Jokers prime.
Savion Williams is definitely not playing TE in the NFL. Dude was TCU’s leading rusher this year.
My issue with guys like Savion is I don't know how much we are going to be able to use him over the next couple of years. He needs a ton of development and other than a few plays a game designed towards him I just don't know how you get him onto this roster. And is it worth having a guy like that when you are already trying to design plays for Mims?
For me I'm looking at WR's that I think can hit the ground running and help us take advantage of the Nix rookie contract and then also of course be contributors beyond that. It is partly why for me Egbuka is really high on my list of wants at pick 20. I also like the idea of trading back a bit out of pick 20 and then taking a guy like Higgins. Not sure he makes it to our 2nd round pick.
I think Savion would be easy to use while he is developing as a WR. Sure, you don't give him 100 snaps but he fills a few roles. That's what I like about him. He has a lot of upside as a WR and you can use him in different ways early on as he develops at WR.
I have always been an advocate for if we draft a WR it has to be better then what we already have. (Which means to me we have to draft one early) barring Payton/Paton think they have some super sleeper late which is very possible. I think you have some safety net with Savion though because of his versatility. He is a WR that doesn't exactly have to be better then what we already have if you use his versatility to your advantage as an "x" factor. Sure, you don't want him being your #1 WR right now or your #1 RB... But with his size and playmaking ability you can use him early and develop him. He is like a nice car that you need to find the extra special gas for to get him filled up and at first it might be half full.
(This is where if I was someone who didn't agree with this I would mention Lynn Bowden not working out)
Yeah Franklin isn't gonna play ST's. He is purely a WR. Sherfield obviously will play ST's. I think that is why it was so important for us to go out and sign Sherfield. We needed a WR to contribute in that way. Hopefully we don't have to depend on Sherfield at WR but he at least fills a roll as a depth WR and standout ST's player. Mims obviously is a ST's stand out/ pro bowler returner, even was a gunner at times last year before we unleashed him at WR.
I don't think if asked Vele would make much of an impression on ST's nor do I think we will ask him to.
Savion may not be the smartest player in the world but he isn't an idiot either. He can get open. His hands do need to improve. It all comes down to how a team uses him and I would't expect a pro bowler out of Savion Williams but i do think Sean Payton could use him well. The problem could go come down to "we already use Marvin Mims" that way if Payton wants to use Mims like he did late in the year last year which I think and hope he does. Savion isn't better then what we have at WR now but he has the ability to be used different. Just depends on what team has a role for him like that.
agree. If we go WR it only really makes sense if it is something different and better then what we have now. Like I said, that isn't to say we won't take one late if Payton/Paton has a good enough grade on one for value purposes.Agreed. I think that is my main concern is it takes away from Mims and how the Broncos want to unleash him. Would rather go for a more traditional WR type especially with not knowing the future of Sutton at this time. Getting a guy like Egbuka for example I think would be a really nice compliment to what we have already in that room. That does mean then using our 1st round pick on him though, but I am good with that knowing we will be getting a very high floor player that can hit the ground running helping in the pass and run game.

He's Taysom Hill like in that he can take those snaps as a wildcat QB and run a read option. He also reportedly has a bazooka for an arm, but not as polished as a guy like Hill. The question for Williams, because like you pointed out, he is not better than the trio(Mims, Franklin Vele) is can be perform those other roles to a high enough standard to let him develop as a WR?
With the depth chart being:
1. Sutton
2. Mims
3. Franklin
4. Vele
5. Sherfield
The Broncos week 1 and week 18 roster had 5 WRs on it. Obviously Sherfield's contract isn't a killer if we need to cut him but who contributes more?
Sherfield as an elite blocker and special teamer vs. WIlliams as a versatile weapon. If we keep 6, does Williams do enough to claim that spot?
