My coach connection at GB says you won’t believe how many guys are playing in the NFL for one reason only - the money. So it’s probably not that uncommon. The uncommon thing is to admit it.
Ive heard plenty of guys who are only in for the money. The smarter ones keep that to themselves for most of their career, because once its out your effort to put it all out there is called into question, just like any job.

if Denver has him as a top 10 pick and he’s there at 20 i’m selecting him meaning he’s still on our board.

denver could take him off the board or drop him down into the 2nd

randy miss dropped for similar concerns.
To be clear, Moss was absolutely generational talent and recognized as such before the draft. Tet is not even in the same zip code as Moss at this point in their careers. Moss also had legal issues off the field, and was supposedly dismissed from FSU for a drug charge. He was drafted at 20 or 21.

I have no problem with players who are in it for the money if they are putting effort into the little things. Afterall, it is a brutal, violent sport so they better be in it this deep for the money. ;) Yeah, I know, if you don't have a love for the game you are more likely to put less time into it.

However, if you are putting no time or effort into it then that is a problem.

It is the NFL, talent alone won't keep you around in the NFL.

Moss was also stripped over his scholarship at Notre Dame. We haven't seen many WR's come out with the talent Moss had. He was on another level coming out but Tet showed he was productive coming out but not the physical tools Randy has in the shed.

Remember how bad we didn't want to see Moss end up a Cowboy? It seemed like at that time it was the most likely spot for him.

Warren Sapp also dropped. Point being I'm not going to let some soundbite exclude me from drafting a top 10 talent at 20 when talent meets need.

There a huge difference between soundbite and a quote. And if he's the best choice left for us at 20 its going to be a sad day.

I would at least have a Zoom meeting with him and discuss what he meant by it and also then talk to past teammates/coaches and try to see what I can get about his study habits. The guy is a great talent so I'm not going to let one line cause me to completely dismiss him as a prospect but it at least would cause me to do some more research.

Yes, this is going to be the biggest thing... What do coaches say about him?

I think Tet is a great guy. It would be a knock on him but I don't think it hurts him a ton. Concerning, yes? Killer? No!

Makes you do extra research which as you know they already dive into this deep. If he is really lazy and careless with prep teams already know that unless Arizona staff is hiding it... His agent should be on the phone with him scolding him on what he says to the public.

I overall enjoy my job, but really it is to pay the bills and make money. That doesn't mean I don't work at being as good as I can it it and that should be true at any job you have. I don't see this kid as a WR1 and is only a first round pick because this isn't a great WR class at the high end. Add this knock and I like him in the first round even less.

Exactly.

If you play for the money that is fine but there is a difference between playing for money and not putting effort into it.

Weather you play for the money or the love or both the effort has to be there to make the money.
