I would add what type of RB we go after will depend a lot on how Estime finishes the season. Leading ball carrier this past week and they seem to be making that switch to him being the primary carrier from here on out. If he can show well then they might be looking more for a lightning to his thunder. Get a guy like Nick Singleton. He isn't my favorite RB but as that 5-8 carry plus a few catches kind of guy that you are hoping for an explosive play he could very well be that. Especially pair him with a coach like Payton that knows how to use that level of athleticism and watch out.

yet you don't like a very physical RB that has shades of Emmitt Smith in his style of play .

I will say this I don't know if I would draft him but if we took a RB in front of him in the first round my goodness would I be mad as heck ... I believe he has more wiggle than Emmitt and Possibly more power .

never said I didn't like Jeanty. Lots of good RB's in this years draft.

Well done Carl.

Agree with your last few posts with the "other" RB's and comment about Estime.

I wouldn't be upset if the Broncos drafted Jeanty. Payton has probably valued the RB position more than any other coach in the NFL. But I hope he sees there are a lot of guys he can fall in love with and get a lot out of them.

I love the kid. My one issue is this is looking like a very good RB class. So is it worth it to use our 1st round pick on him when you can still get a starting caliber RB in the 3rd round and feel very good about their chances of being good?

Jeanty, Quinshon Judkins is looking good, Omarion Hampton would be fun in this offense, Ollie Gordon, Kaleb Johnson would be awesome with his ability to run against loaded boxes like teams are playing against the Broncos (not as much the last couple of weeks with Nix showing more), TreVeyon Henderson, Jaydn Ott, D.J. Giddens (watched decent number of his games with being from Kansas and the kid is fun to watch).

There will be more names to emerge but this might be the best RB class I have seen in a long time. So makes sense of get a position with less depth early on then come back to RB later knowing you could be adding 2 starters.

I am fine with what you said . But he may be Emmitt Smith ... If he is even close you take him .

unless you a Rod smith clone . We need a WR more, that will take over a game . I do think we might have that on or team. I am hoping for Franklin is that guy . I am hoping the feed him early and often in the last of this year.He looks way better already

TE is were WR is on our team I have a feeling about our TE showing better each week .

I seen enough out of our D that I would go light on D . on this draft. Yes you take a steal when they are there

yep .....a lot will depend on who pans out these last games ... safe to say we should not need a QB this draft .

I said kind of the same . But if our Coaches were to draft some RB in front of him . i would be not all that happy about it .. Good thing our Coach loves power Backs

Wisner would be a nice change of pace guy for us. Great hands, speed, and route runner.

He was a freshman in track in 21 wasn't he?

He is in the class of 2023. Committed out of HS in 2022. Have to be 3 years removed from HS to declare.

Will get lost in the shuffle next year with Baxter coming back and Gibson going into year 2. Guessing Blue finally transfers after missing out on his opportunity this year. :( He had a golden opportunity but injuries did play a part.

Baxter and Gibson are going to be REALLY good if they can stay healthy and Texas has some other backs there. Wisner is a different kind of back so he could stick around the next two years but barring injury this will be his biggest role at Texas (which means he could even transfer out more likely after next year depending on the health of the other two)

i’d rather trade up in the 2nd for a RB than take one in the 1st.
take a stud front 7 D or a Olineman in the first
S and RB have been devalued in the NFL
WR wouls have to be viewed as a true #1
my guess on Nov 16 is OT
i do enjoy the draft with both Paytons
i say all that but if they target the next Gibbs i would take that in the first

Depends on the value when the draft takes place.

Never a fan of just taking a position to take a position. A good GM doesn't draft like that.

Paton does an excellent job of positioning need/value.

I would say position of value when possible but don't get stuck into taking one just because. If there is a player worthy of the pick no matter the position then go for it. I don't think Detroit is kicking themselves for taking Gibbs at 12th overall right now.

For me if say a TE proves to be a 1st round talent like Tyler Warren then hard to pass as huge position of need and I think the value could be there. Give Nix someone to target over the middle would really open things up for the entire offense.

feels like DET had Gibbs targeted as the one they wanted. i’m cool with that in fact i’d love for Denver to get thier targeted guy

They definitely targeted him. There is video of them in their draft war room when the pick happened. They talked about sweating it out hoping no team would take him before that pick. I do know a lot of people (myself included) questioned it a bit. I do think if you are going to take a RB that high though they better be the full package like a Gibbs that can impact both the run and the pass. I think of guys like Leonard Fournette when he was drafted. Great talent but limited RB because he just wasn't great in the pass game.

Now this is where I do like Jeanty. He has proven he can help some in the pass game. I wish it was a bit more than what he has shown, but he as at least shown he can be a threat and make teams have to keep pass in mind when he is on the field.

So let’s say that Travis Hunter is taken by Carolina at #1 as a DB. It’s now our turn at 23, and we draft him as a WR.

Some questions:
How does that work contract wise?
What days does he work out with which team?
Will the NFL create a schedule where he can jet off to the second team’s game that week?
If we play each other, can he use the blue tent to change uniforms to move from defense to offense?

Just wondering!

My guy Omarion Hampton with another great game.

Shemar James of Florida is looking more and more legit every game.

LSU gave up 6 sacks going into last night. Florida sacked them 5 times.

DJ Lagway is gonna be elite.
