I am all for this depending on how this all plays out.
Same. I dont know that a partner will be there, but it would be great if there were. We are all gonna be sitting there in the 4th round when we should have come up and be shaking our collective heads at the players we miss out on for Jonathan Mingo

These morons are going to pass on a player at 12 to trade down and then high 5 each other like school girls when they get on the clock pretending they still got their guy. I just wish they’d stay on their yacht and let Will McClay do his job
They are desperate to trade down because they gave away their 4th for a practice squader

maybe this year is different unless some of you really think Jerry was burning the midnight oil adding the pieces this team did in FA.
where is the shock that jerry and son are the front men regardless of who was behind the direction?

I'll stay with the opinion this will be more like Parcells first season.

Sebastian Castro Iowa S

Staying in the mindset of day 3 players.
Rock solid slot corner/box safety hybrid.
Will be 25 years old but is a playmaker through and through.

What if it's McClay saying trade down.

This scenario well may happen. Because we have seen this before. I hope he just throwing crap out there.

This is a year that Jerry should stick to his own stated rule, which is to never be the person to call looking for a deal. If no one calls looking to move up, just sit tight and take a good player. If they do call, make them pay the fair price, not a discount.

My line of thinking is always the same. Only an absolute idiot of a GM (see the Jones Boyz) decides two weeks before the draft that they should trade back (or up, unless it's far enough up to guarantee your player). You have no clue who will be on the board or not when you are on the clock. It only takes one team in front of you to like your guy for him to be gone and sometimes your guy (or a couple) falls. What's worse is this idea that a lot of fans have that players are all similarly ranked between draft slot #x and #y which is always based on them just looking at the various mocks. The teams draft boards don't look anything like the mocks which is why teams like Detroit take a guy like Gibbs (or whomever there are examples every year) before anyone expects.

You trade back when you are on the clock and you have 5 guys ranked as the next best and they are all close enough that you don't mind which you get and you move back 5 spots or less. You don't do it if you have 2 guys ranked as the next best and you would be moving back 5 spots. There is a method to draft trades. It isn't just acquiring picks for players that are a crapshoot to be there down the road anyway and then to work out even if they are there

If they can get a pick like they got from the Lions last year I am good with it,but only if the elite players are gone at 12
