Then it is. I'm just hinting you have no more insight on who they including McClay want or where they think they can grab them, then the rest of us.What if its McClay saying trade up

When did I ever even allude to anything to the contrary? As a matter of fact my entire point all along on the topic has been that "their thinking" is very likely completely different to what the mock drafts and thus most fans thinking is. That's pretty much my entire premise and why I'm saying to ignore them and not assume those rankings are in any way an indication of what we will do from a player selection or ranking perspectiveThen it is. I think need has to play in your plans. If the top 2 BPA has no need but the 3rd BPA is a huge need to fill that need. NoDrafting for need normally causes issues, especially if you are drafting in the late 20s.
You tend to dismiss any trade down talk. Personally I could see a good number of different players being BPA between 10 and 20.When did I ever even allude to anything to the contrary? No. I think the idea of saying you should trade down today or last week or last month or even early next week or any time before you know who is on the clock is moronic. If a player you love is there and you pass on him to pickup some random 3rd (or 4th rounder) then you should be fired. The draft is such a crapshoot to begin with. The idea that a pick will be valuable enough in the 3rd round to pass on a potentially better player is what I think is dumb. Once we are on the clock, that's when you make those decisions and they need to be calculated based on who is there and how far you are dropping. That is at least and likely more important than what you are getting in return. My other point is people saying we should trade back are saying so because they see that Mel Kiper and John Doe and Mary Smith have players at #10 and #12 and #18 interchangeably. Again, that's not in any way whatsoever an indicator of how the team has players ranked and the teams decision will be based on their board and only their board. Half the names we are all throwing out the team probably doesn't even like and other names we aren't mentioning the team proably loves.Maybe it's just me, but you tend to dismiss any talk of trading down. I personally

Edit.. This post connected to a lost post
There are. I was thinking about this earlier. It really depends on what they consider their biggest need. Say it's RB and Jeanty is off the board. It's a deep RB draft, but let's say the Cowboys decide they have to have a bell cow, and are going to take Hampton at 12, because there's no way he will still be there at 44. There's a good chance that they could trafe down to 17-18 and still get Hampton and add a pick. It really depends on how they are playing this. I do agree they are going best need player over just the best player availableYou tend to dismiss any trade down talk. Question. Why is every bad pick Jerry and every good pick McClay. You're right, why overthink. Trust in Jerry. Mazi will be Aaron Donald 2.0 this season

We need to either praise or blame the draft team as one.
Hey man, I'm supporting your astute takes. Mazi is on the road to being Randy White, Guyton looks like a young Tyron and Jerry is the best man for the job. I'll listen to you when you start as co host of the Jerry Jones Shiw on the Fanhow did you two know I was refering to you.
lol....shoe fits
It's not. That's why I don't understand the denial on the last two drafts. I dont care who made the call on Mazi, Guyton and Schoony. If that's the haul we are gonna get from two 1sts and a 2nd, it's no wonder we went 7-10Question. Why is every bad pick Jerry and every good pick McClay.

Now I could see that. If they can slide down to 17-18 and get Hampton, and another good pick, I have no problem with that. There are. I was thinking about this earlier.
