Top prospect Abdul Carter weighing surgery in potential NFL draft twist
Carter is expected to make the decision this week.

Been seeing a rumor that the Cowboys talked to the Titans about the 1st pick. They may like the fact he may need surgery.![]()

Who are most? Media people doing mocks or NFL head scouts and GMs? I haven't seen lists from the latter and have zero interest in the formerI would normally agree with you, but maybe not this season. Instead of the normal 17-18 legit 1st round graded players in the draft, most scouts i listen to agree that this year that number is more like 12-13 max. And one of those is a TE, so you might as well say 11-12 lol. The problem for us is we area picking for need. I'll give you an example. Let's say Osa leaves and Dallas decides they want a DT at 12. The only DT I've seen that most agree is a legit R1 grade is Mason Graham, but he will be long gone at 12. There are like 7-8 DT's that may not be the blue chip guy, but are all almost dead equal in grades or potential...Walter Nolen, Derrick Harmon, Tyleik Williams, Kenneth Grant, Deone Walker, Alfred Collins, Shemar Turner, Omarr-Norman Lott...so you pick anyone you want from that group...and I'll tell you that's a good prospect, but i can make an argument that the last 3 kids from that group will be just as good as whoever you take, because they are all pretty even. That's why I trade down. Same test at RB. Let's say we want RB but the only R1 guy, Jeanty is gone. Kiper just mocked us Hampton, so let's say that's your next guy. I'll say he is good, but if I took Johnson, Henderson or Judkins in round 2, they may not be Jeanty, but they are right there with Hampton(I actually prefer Henderson). If we found a trade partner I would make the move but I respect what you're saying
NFL scouts and GM's aren't the only folks that are allowed to have an informed opinion Bro. NFL scouts from all 32 teams passed on Tom Brady 5 times each, real NFL scouts and GM's took Leonard Fornette over Christian McCaffrey and Mitch Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes(in the same damn draft LMAO), and another we all know took Taco Charlton over T.J. Watt, so don't act like currents are the end all know allWho are most? Media people doing mocks or NFL head scouts and GMs? I haven't seen lists from the latter and have zero interest in the former
Regardless, this team has so many needs. DT is just one of many. So if that is the intent, finding a good player that also fits a big need should not be difficult.
Of course, but at day's end, wrong or right, NFL GMs are the ONLY opinions that matter. Everyone has misses, so that's a odd attempt at trying to state something. I'll trust the scout who spends all day every day looking at players over the media guy who basically copies some other media guys mock and then changes it up a little any day based on which college games he happened to have watched that year.NFL scouts and GM's aren't the only folks that are allowed to have an informed opinion Bro. Yeah but earlier you said you would like either of the safties at 12. Did one of the current Scouts or GM's tell you those two were good players? No. I like both players. I saw them play and want them on this team because they would help us and because our safeties suck. It is my opinion based on what I saw, not based on the mock or opinion of some guy who may or may not have watched them playYeah but earlier you said you would like either of the safties at 12. I go off what I see mostly as well more than anything. I guess I wouldn't make a good scout. I do like Barron from Texas but I love Mukuba. I see mocks with him late 2nd early 3rd, but I think he will be a great pro. Head hunter and playmaker. I also really like the DT Collins from Texas, I think he will be a heck of a pro but he is another guy that shows up 2nd or 3rd round. The reason I'm so high on Tyler Warren from PSU is I watched 5-6 of their games and he was always the best player on the field. I think it's what makes the draft funNo. I like both players. I haven't seen a mock with either as high as 12 but I would take either of them. Personally i like the South Carolina kid a little bit more, but would love either
very true and why I expect the first two rounds to have many surprises based on media head mocks.Of course, but at day's end, wrong or right, NFL GMs are the ONLY opinions that matter.
Johnson had knee surgery in 22. That is a no go for me. I don't want a wide out at 12 either. Defense, RB, or trade down. IMOWe all have our opinions of who we "want" them to draft in round one.
What we want don't matter to the Jones's.
My question is who do you think they draft?
I think the want either Will Johnson or T. McMillan. Both potential All Pros IMO. Both look like studs Both position dire needs. We got Lamb and Bland and not much behind them. Diggs could be done as an NFL player IMO.
I would be very ok with either. Johnson would be electric playing next to Bland. McMillan is the type of outside receiver they have needed in forever
I don't know if there are very many players worth trading up for. I also wonder if them meeting with Dart is a smoke screen. QBs always seem to go early. There always seems to be a run on QBs early second round. I am thinking they may want to deal if the board falls the wrong way.Johnson had knee surgery in 22. That is a no go for me. Dart!! Like hearing that.I don't know if there are very many players worth trading up for. I also wonder if them meeting with Dart is a smoke screen. QBs always seem to go early. My thoughts on who I THINK they will take has a caveat. If they don't resign Osa, I think it will be Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss. If they resign Osa I think they take JeantyWe all have our opinions of who we "want" them to draft in round one.

Nolen would be a good get. He is a beast. My thoughts on who I THINK they will take has a caveat. If they don't resign Osa, I think it will be Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss. If they resign Osa I think they take Jeanty
I've seen several where Nolan could be our pickNolen would be a good get. He is a beast.
I think there's a strong possibility if Osa isn't brought back because Nolan is an up the field 3T. Lots of the other top guys are 1T monstersI've seen several where Nolan could be our pick
I would not be against signing Osa and then drafting Nolen. They need two good defensive. Mazi could leave on passing downs...Nolen is probably better against the run than Mazi is.Nolen would be a good get. He is a beast.
If we resign Osa, the guy i would love to see is Kenneth Grant, DT Michigan, 6'3" 339. Shut down that run game. It wouldn't break my heart to see them go DT twice in the draft after resigning Osa. Take your team weakness and turn it into a strengthI would not be against signing Osa and then drafting Nolen. They need two good defensive.
