That's exactly what we will do but I hate it. You bust a heck of a lot more when you try and cookie cut need. Just take the best player IMO. Literally, for this team, there is no position where we have a surplus and can't use an upgrade. None. Could we use a great QB prospect? Yep. RB? We need 2. WR? Need 2. TE? Heck yeah. OT? Yep? OG...yep. Everywhere. Let's say you're happy with Center and Travis Fredrick is sitting there. Take Fredrick and move Beebe to guard. We are better. Just take the studs
When I think about not having that 4th round pick I get pissed off. They may need to trade down 5 selections and get a 3rd round pick. I would only trade down if certain players were gone though. If there is a stud sitting there I don't trade down unless the offer is too good to pass on. I think there are multiple teams that are going to want #12. I think they could find a trade partner no problem

Mingo was likely to be released. We got Mingo and Lance who is about to leave for two 4ths. Two potential starters. No one better than Jerry though

mock draft overload and still a week out from the combine. I seen each of the top 3 receivers taken at 12 by our Heros.

Daniel Jeremiah has the Texas corner (Barron) rated at 9 in his top 50.

crazy

I can't watch any of these stupid tv mock drafts. In the end, most get it wrong anyway. Nausatingly boring. Especially, Kiyper.

Barron is a good player but I think 9 is way high. Not even sure he is a corner in the NFL, might be FS

he's getting a boat load of love.
strong combine just might put him ahead of all not named Hunter.
I've seen him moving up and Johnson from Michigan dropping. I really like Barron, but I would love him if we dropped back 5-6 picks and took him around 18 and added a day 2 pick

I think if certain players like Jeanty types are gone then a trade down would be a good idea. As long as we get a 3rd round pick. But if a blue chip prospect ,Jeanty,is sitting there at 12 hell no.

Walter Nolen is a guy I got on my radar if we trade down or not trade down. This guy is so underrated as far as defensive line players go. He brings a great pass rush and can stop the run. Very physical. But why stop there? Why not sign Osa or another quality DT in FA and then also draft Nolen? All we got is Mazi under contract. Not good

Osa is another clear reminder at how terribly this franchise is being ran. We bring in Eberflus as DC. The key to his scheme is a disruptive 3T who can rush the passer. As well as Osa played last year, he has a chance to be a star in this scheme...and he likely won't be here. His latest projected contract is 4 years and $85 million. He will get at least $21M per on the open market. We could get this year's cap hit down and make it work on a long term deal but won't. If we franchise him it's a $23.5M cap hit this season which is not doable. A transition tag carries an $18.5M hit this season so that's possible but not preferable. This clubs insistence on waiting till the last minute, giving up all leverage, and either losing the players they need or overpaying for them is maddening.

If the Cowboys lose Osa Nolan would be a nice replacement. That's why I see us going backward though. If we take Nolan to replace Osa, we use our first round I round pick to (hopefully) get the same production Osa put up. We do the same to replace JLewis and Dowdle that's fine, but we aren't improving that way

i think there has to be some replacement through the draft for FA losses. Cheaper upgrade ain't so bad. We have seen stupid money thrown early. I think Washington made Bad ass 3rd highest paid center in football. I posted last week I'd fight for Osa...Now I don't like the number he is sure to get.

IF you drafted a high DT at 1 or 2 the problem solved. As you know, can't sign um all and can't waste all draft filling in for FA losses. This is why I think (HOPE) Jerry creates the $$$ signing Parsons, and extending Dak & Cee Dee. Not to sign all our guys but to be active signing other teams guys. I'd like them to do what they said they wanted, Guys Who Love The Game Of Football.

TURN THE ROSTER OVER.
Get whatever this new head coach and Will McCay say.

Do that last part and we are SB threats. But Stephen controls the purse strings now I'm afraid.
If we clear the money you talked about, signing Osa would be no issue. We could give him 5 years and $100M. $30M signing bonus which divides $6M per over 5 years of cap. Give him a $1M first year salary and you have Osa for $7M this season. I agree with you on their need to draft some replacements, but I am really sick of them pretending they have no choice in that

I ask because I am truly not knowing. Didnt get to see every Cowboy game, but DT was left wanting in our defense.
Maybe you can convince me, but I dont see any DT on our team I would willingly pay top ten money too.
So what is it about Osa we like "that" much?

He was 2nd in the league in snap count and 3rd in pressures for 3T's. Pass rush from 3T is a key element for Eberflus.
As usual, the Cowboys have completely fucked this up. If they lock him up 6 months ago, they get him for $12-13M per. Now they almost have to let him walk, and we can say, well, we will just draft a DT to replace him...except...what if the DT is a bust, or takes a few years to develop like Mazi did? Then we are screwed. Mazi is the only DT from our 53 left on the roster under contract except for Justin Rodgers. Total mismanagement. It's Dak all over again. I don't dislike Dak AT ALL. But I didn't want him for $40M per four years ago and sure as Hell didn't want him for $60M

I saw a mock where Dallas traded back with Cincy at 17 and gained Cincy's 2nd at 49. I won't mention the players, doesn't matter BUT 17,44 and 49 seems pretty darn good to draft three strong contributors if not starters.

Who were the Bengals coming up for? I think trading back is a great idea but the prospects all seem the really close from about 10-40, I think it will very hard to find trade partners because the QB's are weak. Dallas definitely should with their holes
