unless they draft TE at 12, I'll be fine with what Dallas does. I guess we'll see the type of run game this staff envisions. The NC back and the Iowa backs running style may suite this team better.

personally i only see 3 or 4 prospects that I would use #12 on and they'll be gone by 12. so moving down makes sense

Haha, well, you should be in the clear because the TE i want is projected 7th now lol.
I will stand by Warren would be a massive add for us. We need a #2 WR....but Mahomes and Brady have been to what, 15 Super Bowls with a #1 target TE? If we line up in a two TE, Two WR set, Warren and Ferguson what is the D going to do? If they are in nickel, either TE will block the piss out of a slot corner or free safety and we run it. If they line up in base, they will both have a mismatch against a Linebacker or Strong Saftey in the pass game. They will take a safety over the top, freeing up Lamb or and our other WR. We have a QB who can call those adjustments at the line. I believe he would help our offense more than any player we could draft in round 1

And this kid is better than all four of them combined. I know you're right in that they are going to fill holes with their draft instead of taking the best players, but not me. Jerry needs to play in FA.
I see it like OL. I'm sure we will pass on road graders Banks and Booker because we have Hoffman and Bass at RG, but I would upgrade there in a heartbeat as well

later in the draft i imagine there might be a TE or 2 that would be worth taking a chance on

There are. I do agree with most everyone that we have far more pressing needs than TE and that we won't take one. But if a competent Owner/GM were in place, Micah and Osa would already be under contract at a lower number, Dak would be playing for $54M instead of $60M per, and they would go out in FA and sign a starting RB, WR, two DT's, a DE, a MLB and a Corner so that we can go out and play football no matter who we draft. Then go have a great draft. We are throwing all our eggs for need into the draft, and we have had two crappy drafts in a row. I hate Jerry and Stephen

Warren is a guy that I would highly consider. I usually loathe the idea of taking a TE in round one. His versatility as a weapon is why I like him.

I also have the Missouri WR ranked as a top 10 talent in this draft. He is another one that I like for play making and versatility. It not his fault he had trash at QB. Big play waiting to happen.

I would like to see the Cowboys run two TE out there the majority of the time. Who exactly did Tolbert,Cooks and Brooks block last season? Zero imagination by McCarthy when it came to play design ... They would have been better off lining up Span Ford on the outside instead of Brooks and Tolbert. Tolbert and Brooks just don't get open..they scare nobody. It going to be a long season if they don't give Lamb some help...

Sound like some don't value a game changing TE like Warren is. I would not be mad getting him at 12. He is way better than any of the ones we have. We have a number 2-3 type of TE now. Ferguson is not a #1. I don't think they can mess up pick 12 unless they trade down and select a reach. And they damn sure can do that.

100%. I think it just comes down to how you see the player. If he were a slow deleoping Mazi, Guyton or Schoony, then Hell no to TE. But i see the kid as having a Gronk/Kelce type career, so I'm not passing on him period. It's pretty universal that we need an upgrade at WR2. But if you stuck a young Gronk out there with Lamb, would it really matter who your other receiver was?

I think Ferguson is the right in the middle of the pack starter wise. He would be one of the best second TE's. Schoony is currently one of the worst second TE's. He would be a solid #3. My thing is what having a TE that forces S/LB double teams would do for the run game and the double team coverage Lamb sees. It all comes down to whether you think the kid will be great or not

I have seen lots of scouts talking about how in each draft there are only 17-18 true 1st round graded players and this year it's more like 12-13.

but those grades are just opinions.
we've seen top 10 busts and 6th round HOF'ers.

Will McClay is our only hope.

just 10 minutes on the Fan Dane Burglar was on trumping the Oregon RB as a 3rd round guy who would help the Cowboys.

100%. The whole league passed on Tom Brady 5 times each and nearly every team passed on Randy Moss. I think modt scouts put too much faith in what a guy runs his 40 in or how many times he can bench 225. What boggles my mind is sering guys passed on that even a guy like me knows are going to be great. When Jalen Carter fell to the Eagles at 9 I about shit my pants. Some scouts should try watching football games

The baggage Carter had was understandable to pass on him. So far it has not caught up to him.

Yeah but man...that kid obliterated SEC OL's. There's a kid this year I'm seeing drop to the 2nd or 3rd that isn't Carter but I'll say this, in a couple of years he could be an absolute monster. Deone Walker out of Kentucky. Only 20, 6'7" 345 DT. A lot of folks ding him as taking plays off or lazy, but UK played this big boy double or triple the snaps the DL kids at Georgia because UK didn't have anyone else like him. When he wants to play he throws double teams around like they are little kids

I like the Ole Miss guys. They are run stopping beasts. Nolan, Iv, pegues. I am all about SEC defensive players.
