Man I don't know how you can watch that kid and not see it. It's every game I've seen him play. Kid is going to be Gronk. I know we will pass on him and either the Eagles or Commanders will take him and he will murder us for the next 15 years
Warren won't make it to the Commanders or Eagles. I think he goes around 15 to 17.

I think the target may be Jeanty. He could be the BPA at a position of need. He not the only back in this draft though. Zeke Elliot could be a reason they would pass on Jeanty.

If McCarthy returns I don't see the point in drafting Jeanty. McCarthy too pass happy for that.

McCarthy could be gone though.

If McCarthy stays, I think Warren would actually be a great pick because as you say, Mac will throw it around when Dak gets back, and Warren would help im the pass game and the run game. I suspect we go Edge or WR though

Brugler has the Cowboys passing on Jeanty and drafting Burden. I would not be against this if they draft a RB in round two. Burden can do a lot of things on offense. Burden got some dawg in him. I love the confidence and arrogance he plays with. Obviously WR is a major need behind Lamb. I think both Lamb and Dak would love Burden. I am warming up to the idea very much. IDGAF if he is only 5'10". This guy makes things happen.

They could then sign Turpin and make him the number 3. Sick of watching guys like Tolbert and Brooks not getting open. Burden would give them another RAC guy.

If they resign Dowdle, I could I understand waiting a round, though I would take Jeanty. The problem is, if they go WR in round 1, I think the DT's all come off in round 2, so they go DT there and then have to hope a RB they like is still there in the 3rd. If they get cute and don't sign Dowdle and then wait till round 5 for a back(since we pissed away our 4 on Mingo), then we are up shit creek

I dont think we sign as WR in round 1.
Unless some crazy great WR fell to where he shouldnt.
I'd be super surprised if we drafted one in the 1st.

Draft "experts" are always trying to figure out how we will have 2 #1's on the field at same time. When realistically I dont see us looking at that the same way.
You can find Wrs in the 3rd rd. to be a #2.
In fact I have learned to shy away from the experts that make these kind of guesses.

The last one we took in round one worked out pretty well...

I will never complain with OL in the 1st rd.
Hows that Guyton working out?

I get what you mean though. Those are investments that need to be made for any real success. Said in about every analysis I have ever heard. Run-stop the run. That's how you win games.

Didn't he fall too us though?
Yep, but shouldn't have. Going into that draft he was projected top 10. Still a 1st rounder though.
I agree with the premise that you can "get a WR" later, just like you can get a RB or anything else, which is why you should use the draft to increase the talent level, not fill holes. It's pretty universal that's scouts only grade out 14-16 kids per year as true 1st round grades. The rest of the kids taken are 1st rounders with 2nd round grades. Lamb was a 1st round grade that dropped to us because other teams did the same stupid shit we pulled the last two years and drafted for need. That's why I'm fine with taking the RB Jeanty or the TE Warren or Burden or Graham or any of those guys at the top because then we are taking a legit dude.

yes & he fell to us, when he shouldnt have been there.
If that happened again. We probably do that again.
but that happening again. As I said. I would be surprised.

It's really the same thing though. Had we taken some DE for need over Lamb, it would have been a mistake. So picking 12th, there won't be a legit 1st round grade left at every position, likely 4-5 guys max and a couple might play the same spot. For me personally, if the choice is a WR who is 1st round on their board I would far rather have him than take a guy they rank lower that they feel they need more. Micah and Lamb were the best players on their board when they took them. Mazi, Taco and Guyton were not. One way works more often than the other IMO

I say let other teams overpay for Dowdle. I don't trust this guy. I don't think he is a bell cow. He going to get paid by someone and will get hurt
No thanks

I'm not so sure he is going to get such a big deal off of a nice half season
