I get it. Good news for you, we will definitely go a different direction. All I'll say is, if we were on the clock last year and about to take Guyton, and if for whatever reason, Brock Bowers were still available, and you knew what they would become, are you still taking Guyton? Same question for the previous year with Mazi? Just interested
Different question...if the Raiders called today and offered Bowers for Guyton and Mazi, what would you say?
well if you are asking if I would take an all pro Te over a subpar 1st rounder. Of course. problem is no one knows this until later. But I already well documented how often (almost always) teams are disappointed on cant miss (generational) 1st rd TEs. We normally nail it on lineman.
As far as your 2nd question. Now we are talking players not 1st rd draft picks. There is no more unknowns. BTW I was never a fan of the Mazi pick.

you're trying to suck me back into this convo LOL

I'm not trying to talk you into the player for this team this year, I'm just pointing out why I would take the player. To me, the draft should always be about the best player available regardless of position. Where the Cowboys screw that up lately, is they used to use FA to address their needs and then draft to increase talent and they were great at it. The last couple of years, they haven't utilized FA and went into the draft with no choice but to draft certain position to fill huge needs, which is why we busted(so far) the Mazi and Guyton picks. We are tracking for the same bullcrap this year which really hurts us IMO

Agreed. I really think it's the most important part of a passing game the way things are played now. If you can line up with two TE's, it forces teams out of the nickel which is the base for most teams now. Great TE's are such mismatches, it makes everyone around them better. KC lost the best deep threat in the game in T. Hill, but kept winning. Kelce is the guy that kills teams. For SF, after CMC, its Kittle who kills you. IMO, when we play Philly, if we are healthy at corner we match up well with them outside but Dallas Goedert just beats the shit out of us. Mark Andrews for the Ravens. Sam LaPorta now for Detroit. I like Ferguson, solid player, but IMO he us no where near those guys. Now if he were your 2nd TE in a 2 TE set...enjoy defending that

I highly doubt they draft a TE in round one after drafting Ferg and then Schoon. Ferg is in the second or third tier of tight ends IMO. If they had to choose between a receiver and a TE then Warren is a no brainer. He is the size of Witten, but is faster than Witt was in his prime. Warren is more similar to Kelce,Kittle,Gronk type. A matchup problem. Warren could climb the board if he has a great combine.

I think if Dallas took Egbuka or Burden Jr in the 1st as a #2 WR, most folks(including me) would be good with it because we need a #2. My only point with Warren, is I think he would be an even bigger help to Dak as a 2nd option and would make Lamb even better. If you lined up Lamb and Warren on the same side. You can't double them both. And you aren't covering this kid with a LB or S. No shot

Overshown is out for most or all of next season ans Micah plays a lot of DE. Campbell would work
2 knees in 3 years overshown could just be done for anything long term I would count on him as extra dessert and nothing more. Nothing against him but the injury bug hits lots of talented players and cuts what could/ should/ might have been hall of fame or even solid careers into dust

Yeah it's unfortunate because he is a great kid and unbelievable player. We have had some bad luck losing great players, Fredrick set the team back a decade on the OL

I sadly have to agree. Hopefully he will end up shocking us and have a great career.

Even more problematic is the fact we got a QB on the wrong side of 30. Dak gotten hurt a lot lately that hamstring could be a problem going forward . They made big mistake by not letting Dak earn that extension. Getting put on IR is not earning that extension.

I would SERIOUSLY consider drafting a kid like Ewers or Dart in the 3rd round. I know taking a day two QB would go over like a fart in church(or like a TE in the first lol), but Rush and Lance are both FA's and neither seems to be long term answers at QB, so with a 32 year old QB who has had his season end twice in the last few years, it better be worth developing someone who could take over im a couple of years if necessary
