If I were a Vikings fan I would want JJ as the starting QB next year, I don’t think Darnold is franchise QB material, he can be decent but he’s never going to take a team to the next level, I would want JJ to come in as the QB and see what he’s got, there‘s a good chance he’s better than Darnold.

Vikings D initially came to play. They just got winded and gave up when it was clear the offense was never going to give them any help. The loss falls squarely on the Minnesota offense, as far as I'm concerned.

It's the inability to get TDs early. I don't know if kicking FGs is the answer, but they were just not able to get TDs inside the 5 and 10 with 4 cracks at it several times. The game is closer than the score makes it look, but that was the difference. I don't recall them trying to run when close, but it's tough to throw in those tight spaces. So I guess you just tip your hat to the opponent and get ready for the next one.

I will say it's pretty impressive for Minnesota to have won as many games and be in this position all with a back up QB. Not just a back up but a guy who trades in and is pushed into it, not bad.

Vikes would be fools to bring Darnold back next year at the salary he'd command. They've already seen his limits with one of the best offenses in the league, and that's putting up pretty overall regular season stats while taking a seat to the real top teams of the league when push comes to shove. They need to give McCarthy his shot and see what he's got before that offense gets a lot spendier to maintain. I'll honestly be pissed if they keep McCarthy benched or trade him for the sake of overpaying a formula they already know the results of in Darnold.

I got to hand it to Dan.
Here he is the best team in the NFC & he actually does it his way.
IF any of these crazy 4th downs or other stuff he does didnt work. Especially a couple in a row. A lot of people would be driving for him to lose his job.
He gives no fucks & does some of the most unorthodox stuff & he is the #1 seed for doing it his way. (alot)
