No way I see that happening. 4 first rounds, that's nuts
That might be one of the few scenarios where I'd say fuck it and make the trade. Otherwise, take a damned QB.

I think they should wait and trade for Santa and the Easter bunny, but only if a leprechaun is thrown in.Would you trade the #3 for four first round picks or something else???
Patriots Draft Rumors: Teams Facing 'Historic' Price For Club to Trade Down
Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston continues beating the drum that if another team wants to move up to #3 overall and make a trade with New England, it's going to cost them. A lot.www.patsfans.com
This is true, but given no other team seemed so hot to grab him, it's highly likely he would have been added in the seventh round.View attachment 359903View attachment 359904
All these years and I never knew Brady was a comp. pick……

Prospect "grading" needs to be taken with a grain of salt.... Milton has a cannon are ready for the next level. Do you know who else was described like this? Ryan Mallet.Back to 2024 for just a moment.
Patriots are doing due diligence and have had dinner and a day with QBs, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix.
Not making anything here, just reminding everyone..........every team has a maximum of 30 draft eligible visits.
The draft is one week from today.
I wonder if they are actually creating a smoke screen. If the reports out of NY are true and the Giants will offer 2024 #6, #47 and #70 and 2025 1st and 2nd and 2026 1st for #3, Would the Patriots trade the #3, get the "bag" as Mayo has called it and take Penix at #6? Or would they grab the best WR remaining (Nabor, Odunz) and hope that Nix or Penix is available at #34 and use #47 for an OT? Or would they take Alt at #3 and wait until #34 to get the QB and a WR at #47.
Or how about this? Trade the #6 to the Raiders for #13 and Devante Adams?
There are a million scenarios and rumors. I just can't imagine not taking that haul from the Giants if they truly are offering it for #3.
Seriously, #6, two picks in round two, two in round 3 and two firsts and two seconds in next year and two firsts in 2026. Just think of the possibilities to stock this team and move up net year or in 2026 for franchise QB. Then again, there are two QBs that no one is talking about and just might be sitting out there in round 3.
8.Joe Milton*, QB, Tennessee
Height: 6-5. Weight: 235. Hand: 10.
Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
Projected Round (2024): 3-5.
4/9/24: Milton started out his collegiate career at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee. With good size and a cannon for an arm, Milton has serious passing talent for the next level. Milton can be deadly when given time, but he does not throw well on the run. In the pocket, Milton can be accurate and challenge defenses at every level. In 2023, he completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. Milton had an inconsistent week of practice at the Senior Bowl, but showed off his super powerful arm at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

Particularly nasty off-season. Lets get on to the draft and arguments about players.Anyone else just so ready for this draft so we can at least talk about, well, you know, the draft!
I get tired of all the prospect talk when most won't succeed. I do like finding the flyers or the "binky picks", but I don't see much discussion about those.Anyone else just so ready for this draft so we can at least talk about, well, you know, the draft!
Every year it's the same thing ad we all fall for it. And into it.I get tired of all the prospect talk when most won't succeed. I do like finding the flyers or the "binky picks", but I don't see much discussion about those.
I wonder were Breer gets his info? If I read this correctly, we give up #3 and in return get a LT #11, #23 and a 2026 Round One pick? That's a good haul and immediately takes care of one position, at 11 take best QB or WR then at 23 best WR or QB. But as you stated depends on Wolfe making deal with Darrishaw whom I know nothing about.Every year it's the same thing ad we all fall for it. And into it.
Difference today is that the Patriots have three glaring holes at LT, WR and QB. Because we're fans, our emotions get involved and we jump at every tiny fragment of news. Why wouldn't we?? There is so much mystery and possibility that if someone walks by and the table jiggles, everyone grabs their glass hoping the drink won't spill.
Back to the draft and the latest news.......
Minnesota attempted to get Arizona to take the #11 and #23 so that they could get the #4. Arizona basically said publicly, "The #4 is not for sale and we will be using it." Less than 10 minutes later, the Washington Commanders said they have made their decision and unless Chicago does something totally out of what's known, they will be taking Jayden Daniels.
So....................Right now according to the world.....
1. Chicago - QB Caleb Williams USC
2. Washington - QB Jayden Daniels LSU
3. New England - ???????
4. Arizona - WR Marvin Harrison Jr. OSU
According to Bert Breer, seven teams have contacted the Patriots, trying to get some idea of what they will do. Several have made offers, according to Breer.
Minnesota, NY Giants, Denver Broncos, LV Raiders, LA Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.
There are rumors about what has been offered and what the Patriots have asked. Because the Giants have supposedly offered a total of six picks, Breer, without hesitation said that the Vikings have tweaked their offer to get the #3. #11, #23, 2026 1st round pick and Christian Darrisaw their starting LT. Alarm, Alarm, Alarm. Darrishaw is an All-Pro in the final year of his contract where he's making less than $3M on a contract that paid him $13.3M and his fifth option would/will cost $16.5M.
As much as I'd like to see him on the Patriots OL, Wolfe had best get him signed to a new five year contract before even considering that deal. The guy is 26 years old, 6'5" 315 and he's had some injury issues.
Just heard the same thing on Total Access about those two teams saying they're staying put. They added NE has said they're waiting to see what the Commanders do at #2 before they make a decision. Sounds plausible to me.Every year it's the same thing ad we all fall for it.

And the Pats have to say that, they have to play the hand of, " If the player we covet is still there we will take him", this makes teams really have to think outside the box if they really want that #3 pick. I also read the Pats needn't be overly concerned with taking a QB early or at all, that if they could load up on weapons and buff up the O line it makes it easier to get a QB that may not be a Brady, Manning or MontanaJust heard the same thing on Total Access about those two teams saying they're staying put. Agreed. I'm still sticking with trading back. Load up and take Penix. Getting a "pre-agreement" is easily done.Every year it's the same thing ad we all fall for it. And into it.

Why not just say they don't want to trade their pick or spell out what they would like?So the Chargers are recently quotes as saying the have the #1 pick in the draft. " Seeing as the four team ahead of us will be taking QBs, we feel as if we have the #1 pick in the draft" and if teams want to trade up they need to make offers indicative of what the number 1 selection would get.
