How about the men's 3000m Steeplechase where former BYU runner Ken Rooks from Washington came out of nowhere and took silver ahead of all those Ethiopeans and Kenyans.

Hey, white men can run!

Tuesday's men's 1500m race saw Univ. of Oregon's Cole Hocker, from Indianapolis, a 21-to-1 longshot, pull off the biggest upset at the Paris Olympics for gold and an Olympic record. Very exciting come from behind race. USA's Nuguse took bronze.

Every 4 years I get excited to watch the Olympics and I get especially excited because as the coverage gets better, I can watch the sports km interested in. Running isn't a sport, it's just part oof other actual sports. Same with swimming, maybe water polo, but not just swimming. And gymnastics? Really? I'm not wasting my time watching gymnastics. Yeah they're skilled, but it's closer to being a beauty pageant with summersaults than it is to being an actual sport.

Instead I convince myself I'm gonna watch all the really cool shit. Judo! Karate! Tae Kwan Do! It's gonna be like Bruce Lee vs Helio Gracie vs Jean Claude Van Damn. This is gonna be awesome. But even more than those I get excited to watch Fencing. It's fucking sword fighting! How do they never show this? How are people not talking about this? It's Game of Thrones without the sex. This is gonna be awesome.

Then every 4 years I actually watch fencing and tie Kwon do.... it's so fucking stupid. How is this shit a sport? Why is it in the Olympics? Why do they bother covering it on TV? Who would ever watch this shit? Fencing has about as much in common with swordfighting as baseball does with knitting. I think I'd probably voluntarily choose to watch competitive knitting before I ever watch fencing again. They kicked that sprinter out of the Olympics for smoking weed. They should kick all of these fencers out of the Olympics for fencing.

But I already know I'm gonna forget about this by 4 years from now. Early onset dementia I guess?

There's speed climbing and bouldering which is like challenging different difficult climbing "problems" but only like 3 feet off the ground.
