USA's Kristen Faulkner from Alaska wins gold in the women's cycling race with a sudden and dramatic move taking the lead over Marianne Vos of Netherlands and Lotte Kopeky of Belgium just before the three riders crossed the Seine River with about a mile to go. Marianne Vos won the silver and and Lotte Kopeky took the bronze. Very exciting race.

She attacked so quickly the others didn't even bother to try and counter. They looked up and she was GONE.

Athletics starting today which means for us Canadians the return of Mark Lee and obtuse angles :D
Mark Lees favorite 100m sprinter is Jamaicas Oblique Seville ::yo:

Man, it's rough when you run 9.98 in the 100m and that's not fast enough to qualify for the finals.

In Men's 1500 Free, Gregorio Paltrinieri of Italy bested the world record by .75 of a second. And finished second.

That's gotta sting.

How about the 100m. The results were amazingly close with USA Lyles taking the gold, USA Kerley, bronze, and the Jamaican Thompson the silver. All runners were under 9.92 sec.

I keep seeing Snoop described as an "American Icon". Why, exactly? Because he had a mediocre song 30 years ago, likes pot and probably fucked Martha Stewart?

We need to get us some higher standards.

This Snoopy dog? This is an icon.

I think this might be the first time I've seen a repechage in sprinting (rowing and judo have them already).

Indoor cycling in the velodrome today - One of my favorite events to watch, these races are so intense.
Team GB is just ridiculous in these events.

High on my list of sports I wished I'd tried.
