Well that is interesting. I just read an article on lakeshowlife that indicated he was invited to the summer league roster. Possibly click bait or misinformation.
He's on a 2 way contract with Memphis (this being his 2nd season of a 2 year deal).

Rob pulling L's since the trade deadline when we added Russ, Vandy and the others.

His L's for this summer date back to when he gave player options to Reddish and Hayes. The only way they would pick those up would be if they had bad seasons. So, of course they picked them up and used up the Lakers' available roster spots. For Wood, OK maybe that was needed as there was some competition to get him signed.

Not sure how he's pulling L's now though. Potential trade partners are asking for far too much in return and he has no roster spots for FA. If you think giving up the 2029 and 2031 1sts for Carter or Grant would be wise, an intervention may be necessary. Maybe you want to give 3 players with substantial roles (and their main trade chip salaries) for LaVine? These are the kind of deals that are available right now (that we know of).

Going to have such an epic meltdown if Rob trades salaries and 1 or 2 1st rounders for Grant.

I would only trade salaries and a 2nd or 2 for him since no other team seemingly wants him.

Portland wears it as a badge of honor that they've never traded with the Lakers. Continuing those talks is just pointless. Most trades that have been talked about this much in the media don't happen anyway.

31yo Moe Harkless (thought he was older than that, LOL) is trying to make a comeback by playing in summer league.

This, especially in the second and third sentences.

As I have stated several time before, Rob Pelinka and the Lakers should just chill and stop making fools of themselves with suggested trades that are completely ridiculous like the proposed trade with Portland and Jeremi Grant.

These sorts of stories are becoming more frequent. No matter however you want to spin it, in the infamous words of Mecca, "perception is reality".

It's never been denied that he was drafted as a favor to Lebron. He'll play limited minutes with Lebron during the season, but the majority will be in South Bay working on his game. So much vitriol for a #55 overall pick lol.

The truth is if they could have traded Lebron and gotten any team to help replenish their draft picks they should have after the one title. Not how things work though.

Yep. They should continue to check in with the Nets, Jazz and Magic to see if they are willing to make any moves that make sense, but I don't think there should be urgency to make any moves. The main issues are a need for a backup C upgrade and moving on from DLo, but all in due time.

Lakers are as accommodating as they can be for their superstars. All part of being a potential destination for the next one. Paid Kobe over his likely market number at the end of his career, and they won't move on from Lebron unless it's at his request.

Why would you blow up a championship team? They made their own errors not trusting that roster and making that ridiculous trade for Westbrook. If they stay the course instead, they might have another ring.

Do you think he’s the missing piece to another chip?

If not, don’t go full Clippers.

Shams: 'I don't think the Jazz want to move Lauri Markkanen'

i_e4_83_8e_lauri-markkanen.png

“I don’t think [the Jazz] want to move Lauri Markkanen,” Charania told hosts Rob Perez, Amin Elhassan and during while at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

“But if the Golden State Warriors put in a Brandin Podziemski and from what I’m told, three first-round picks, three or four unprotected pick swaps, three or four second-round picks…

” At that point, one of the hosts mentioned breakout wing Jonathan Kuminga as a potential name in trade talks. “Kuminga is a name but I think, for everything I’m told, the Jazz are more focused on Brandin Podziemski and his inclusion in the deal,”

Charania said. “All the picks being in the deal. And I think from the Warriors perspective, it’s Podziemski, but then there’s not all the picks and if it’s all the picks, then there’s not going to be a Podziemski
The asking point for a fringe All-star player on the end of a contract is wild.

Kuminga is still a quality player. Trading Lauri for Mark is definitely an upgrade, but is that upgrade worth 3 first round draft picks, 3 future pick swaps, 3 future 2nds, Moody and PODZ!?!?.

Yeah Ainge is super unserious about this.
