Bridges fits on every team

Every single one

Small guards need a lot of help and protection defensively

I'm not saying Bridges isn't worth more

That is a massive delta

Is it?

It’s more like 1 or 2
Late firsts

Pick 3/4 (rockets and sa) is worth 3 late firsts at least.

Imaginary

Brown is a lot better than Garland.

Probably 3-4 picks and matching salary.

Brown is a 2 way player.

Garland is a 1 way player who is inconsistent offensively. That is not worth $40 million.

The Pistons will gladly trade their 5th pick for Garland lol. Flip Ivey then

This mostly came up with my pistons friend after seeing browns playoff analytics, the Celtics salary cap and the pistons needing a vet more than another project

It would mostly be a way to keep white, duck under the how dare you actually try apron, get a pick that could get traded for a dude like bridges, and maybe land younger help like ivey and grimes

Lots of options

Fun exercise

Not even sure Brad has the stones to trade brown (who might be the most overrated player in the nba now that Wiggins fluke 4 months are over)

And he’s got boulders

I'd contemplate murdering Brad Steven's first born child for Jaylen Brown.

To make the salaries work....it would be Keldon Johnson and Zach Collins plus the #4 pick.

That is too much for Garland who is coming off a season where he averaged 18ppg and 6.5apg. plus, he is injury prone.

That #4 pick has a $9M+ cap hold of it's own depending on when the trade happens. The Spurs will have some cap space open once they dump their cap holds (notably Osman).

How about this:
When we see who goes 1-3 you will be able to select any remaining player in this draft for the SA Spurs and then we will compare this player to Garland over the next 3-4 years. We will also keep in mind that the Spurs are likely to be a team that is working hard to get to the cap floor because of their rebuild.

Unless they start dumping players, the Spurs will be at max about $18M under the cap (and they would still need to sign those draft picks, approx $25M between the 2 1sts).

Cmon man.

Cleveland comes to SA with that deal?

They say no.

Reverse?

Cleveland says yes.

Not going to happen.

I think Cleveland could do better than the deal above

No deal.

I am not saying that player is going to be better.

I am saying that player is cheaper and under team control for the next 8 years.

That matters.

Especially when we are talking about a player like Garland who is nothing special.
8 years. Well if the player sucks, they won’t. Garland is already an established player. He is an All-Star. You are only looking at it from one side.

You trade picks in bad drafts for established players. The problem is that is difficult bc nobody wants these picks. A pick outside of the top 5 is garbage value in this draft. A top 5 pick is much better but still not a ton of value. The Cavs can get Ingram straight up if they wanted to. I think they can get Keldon and 2 1st’s. Keldon at this point is a role player. Garland is far from that.

And the Spurs aren’t trading their 4th overall pick for Garland.

So why are we talking about this?
Of course they aren’t. Gotta make salaries work. The Cavs aren’t trading Garland for an unknown draft pick/player. That would be stupid. They want a young player with talent and picks. If it was a deal it would be picks (plural) Keldon and salary filler.

THERE IS NO CHANCE IN HELL CLEVELAND IS TRADING GARLAND FOR A DRAFT PICK

That is laughable

You love pointing out 2 years ago with Garland....well guess what?

Johnson averaged 22ppg and 5rpg 2 seasons ago with the Spurs....he lost some touches and shots with shots with Wemby.

If Johnson is a role player....so is Garland. He isn't a #1 or a #2 on a really good good team. I don't even think he is a #3, probably a #4 option on offense on a title contending team.

He was a #2 on a playoff team. Anything else?

So now you are essentially saying Keldon is better than Garland hahahaha

This is going to look pretty funny soon if the Cavs trade him. They can get Ingram straight up most likely. Even though you said before Ingram was a far superior player.

You have no idea

A playoff team. I said a title contender.

Try reading. You're such a Cavs homer it's ridiculous.

If the Cavs could get Ingram locked in at 40 million then it would be a win

But they're almost dead on in trade value
