I'd assume top 3 defensive money?Garrett's current contract is for $19.8M in 2025 and $25M in 2026. I would expect him to demand an increase from whichever team he's with in 2025.

Overthecap projects the DE franchise tag for 2025 at $24.7M. The LB tag projection is $2.3M higher. I guess he's looking at $25M +/-. Then again he'd lose a lot by holding out and he's not massively short of that figure already. On the other hand who wants to pay $19.8M for a player who will be disgruntled if he isn't rewarded? My guess is he'll get a raise.I'd assume top 3 defensive money?
I will assume one of the teams that made the playoffs will jump on this and give him his new contract he's looking for. KC/Philly to keep the run going and Rams/Bills etc jump in to get them over the hump and back to the SB.Overthecap projects the DE franchise tag for 2025 at $24.7M. Pretty sure KC and Philly don't have the money to trade for him.I will assume one of the teams that made the playoffs will jump on this and give him his new contract he's looking for. KC/Philly to keep the run going and Rams/Bills etc jump in to get them over the hump and back to the SB.
I don't know KC but Philly should be around 35mil under the cap plus some cuts improves that number and bunch of guys the following year jumps that number up. I think Howie's a dope but 2 things he's good at is kicking the can down the road to fit a player onto the roster and when to make a trade to better the team.Pretty sure KC and Philly don't have the money to trade for him.
Multiple teams will be interested but it comes down to the Browns trade demands - if they're even willing to trade. Any Eagles interest would require a jump in the salary cap. They have some 2025 space but contract restructuring-wise they're already maxed out for the next 2 years.I will assume one of the teams that made the playoffs will jump on this and give him his new contract he's looking for. Cap wise the next 2 yrs projections of course is 35ish mil and than 65ish mil. It's possible but you're right it does come down to Cleveland moving him which I believe they will cause his trade value is at the highest and if they can get 2 or 3 teams trying to out bid each other they can move on and start the rebuild with some prime picks.Multiple teams will be interested but it comes down to the Browns trade demands - if they're even willing to trade. You left out one team who was in the final four. They will be active in this I would think.I will assume one of the teams that made the playoffs will jump on this and give him his new contract he's looking for. I put the etc in. Didn't feel like writing all the playoffs teams but yes Washington will definitely be in the mix.You left out one team who was in the final four. They will be active in this I would think.
People will have to offer them compensation that makes it worth it. Years ago Khalil Mack went for two firsts. I’m not sure Garrett gets that but could be a first and multiple 2nds or 3rds.Why would the Browns, in a bad cap situation, trade Garrett and add to that cap problem with such a dead cap hit? I'd love to see him in Washington but I don't see him being traded.

I mean I get the desire for picks but to fuck up their cap is kind of a strange ask. Since the Commanders are picking so late we are kind of resolved to 2 firsts at least.People will have to offer them compensation that makes it worth it. Years ago Khalil Mack went for two firsts. Anytime you can make yourself better, you do.Rams don't need him. They have plenty of young pass rushers getting the job done.
Cleveland needs to blow it up. Why not get the draft capital you can and just lean into cap hell for a year or two. They need to do that with Watson too. Just bite that bullet. If they do anything but blow it up they’re just chasing bad money.I mean I get the desire for picks but to fuck up their cap is kind of a strange ask. Hoping we can fool them into taking Jon Allen. Cleveland fans will be thinking they got a 2 time Pro Bowler while Washington fans know he hasn't been worth a shit for 2 seasons and was always overrated.
well he wants to be traded. Why would the Browns, in a bad cap situation, trade Garrett and add to that cap problem with such a dead cap hit? I'd love to see him in Washington but I don't see him being traded.
I'm just going with playoff teams but you're right, there's probably other areas of needs for the rams.Rams don't need him. They have plenty of young pass rushers getting the job done.
