I'm really curious to see if the Cowboys make a play for Sanders and package Dak and multi first round picks.

The trade actually can work out.. it would be costly for the Cowboys (and the trade partner) but it can happen and work within the cap rules. That's going to be the only story of this draft IMO lol.

Quit biting on the click bait.

Sanders isnt going to coach the Cowboys and the Cowboys arent going to trade Dak 8 months after giving him a huge extension.

Swear it's 2018 all over again in Browns forums. around half the fans saying "cannot draft a QB, need to build around him first." another good portion saying no matter what have to take a QB at 1. swhat will really happen? If they love a guy and he's there at 2 they take him.

Of course, the first half also saying just take one later (and since Dart the name they are hearing he seems to be the guy for that group). Often they will say how it worked for Ravens to get LJ.

Just so many things wrong with this. I'd say first and foremost is if you really do like Dart a lot how can you be sure you get him if not at 2 (which wont happen)? I mean, even Bmore kind of lucked into LJ as they had no clue how good he'd be or even available to move up to get him. If they knew I don't think they pass on him midround and take a TE.

Gonna be a fun few months.

Not to throw salt into the wound, but I just came in here to make note that Myles Garrett has requested a trade from the Browns today.

He should get you a 1st and a 3rd at least from some team.

Let the rebuild begin I guess.

Yeah, trading Myles Garrett is likely a win/win/win in terms of Myles, the Browns, and whoever gets him. Watson really set this team back and they need to be looking at a 2 year rebuild.

I suspect there is a chance Sanders wont play for Cleveland.

Not that it matters (especially after last year's draft) but there isnt a chance in hell I would take Sanders with the 2nd overall pick. He simply isnt that type of QB prospect.

Trading Garrett gets them an extra 1st and everthing falls into place after that. They can take Ward if still available. Or they can take Carter.
And then with the additional 1st round pick, they can use the #24 overall pick they get from my Vikings (AND THATS ALL!) to maneuver to get either the QB or DL they need after that.

But either way the Browns have to go the retread route too. I would bet they will be one of the top options for Darnold.

Dallas's 2025 Free Agency may push reactionary Jerry.

#11... "I want to see players here,'' he said. "I want to see some of these (in-house free agents) back in this locker room. I want to be as aggressive (in free agency) as we can be.''

The economics of a QB rookie contract will look extremely attractive to the Browns imo. Darnold also maybe too old for a team rebuilding.

My guess is Ward goes #1, Giants trade up to #2 to secure Sanders, Carter goes #3 to the Browns. Browns maybe sign Fields.

Its impossible to correctly speculate, though, because I think these QB prospects are good enough to 2 teams will fall in love but they aren't good enough that every team will fall in love. Its hard to say which GMs will want them.

I mean here's the Browns breakdown if they draft Ward or Sanders.

Trade Garrett and nab another 1st and prob. a future 2nd? (Garrett is 29.5 by season start and will want a new contract, he's not getting THAT much)
Draft your QB of the future.
Carry DeShaun on your books for 2025 (they have to - he's like a $115M post June cut), cut him in 2026. Maybe he can teach Sanders or Ward about what not to do in massage rooms.

And then roll. Basically blow it up. The sad thing is, because of Watson you will have wasted a year of your rookie QB contract. Otherwise it's basically similar to what the Broncos did with Nix and eating Wilson's contract, although I think Wilson's hit was STILL less.

If I was the Browns, I'd just play out the season, trade Garrett while you can get a 1st... build up, and go for the 2026 QB draft and THEN take your Watson hit. It's the cleanest move.

I think I'd be trying my hardest if I was the Browns to get my 1st in next years draft and then whatever else that comes with it maybe in this one. This is likely a bottom 20% draft in terms of overall talent at least from what I'm hearing.

Its hard to just lose a bunch of games and have everyone getting fired, though. That said, if Sanders is even signaling he want to be the next Eli Manning then let the Giants do that. There is also a small chance the Titans dont take a QB at 1 and if Carter isnt on the board I'm not sure there is another player that would even remotely look tempting at 2 to pass up rolling the dice on a QB.

Agreed. Browns can take BPA and at #2 that is not ANY of the QBs. And sadly because of Deshaun you're not going to be able to build an amazing team around them (like the Skins can do). No QB is going to want to play for that dumpster fire at the moment.

Garrett wasted his career with Cleveland so whatever. Move on, take BPA routinely in this draft, snag your QB in 2026. Now I dunno if the Manning's will pull the Eli thing again with Arch, but you got Allar as well.. Cleveland can find their QB there, dump Watson in 2026, and have some talent from trading Garrett and drafting top 3 to surround him with. Go snag Hunter. You can pair him with Jeudy which any QB will salivate coming into and he can play DB as well. Or grab Carter since Garrett wants out.

To me it's very simple... but it's the Browns. The circus show never stops with them. They'll probably trade UP to the #1 spot and give Tennessee Garrett to secure it. Fuck if I know what that damn franchise is going to do. If you can predict what the Browns will do you should be putting that on your resume and sending it to top Wall Street investment firms.

The general gist I get is that Abdul Carter is the most valuable player in the draft and Travis Hunter is #2. That said, you want to talk about teams screwing things up...well...if you can't even develop a QB then am I really sure you won't screw up Travis Hunter?

cant see how this will be a win for the Browns.
They lose the talent of a top 2 rusher/DL
They lose a shitton of cap to dead cap because they let him leave early on a huge contract.
they better get real lucky on their draft pick just in hopes of getting back to close to even.
IMO they are losing on this regardless. Question is. Only by how much?

It's a win for the Browns because Garrett is older and the Browns need to rebuild. They won't get a player better than Garrett.

Trading Garrett would increase the 2025 cap figure by just under $17M, but it would clear a lot of future cap space. Given that they're 3-14 in 'win now' mode i'd look for trade offers.

what would the team that traded for him have left to pay on current contract.
