This is why I never believed he will be traded. The Browns are a terrible team, they just need a QB (no easy task). So why blow it all up and take a big cap hit? The picks they receive problely won't add up to Myles Garrett's production.
Guessing you meant to say are NOT a terrible team? If so, agree.

Either they're a terrible team or they just need a QB. It can't be both.

Most people think the Browns won't be competitive if they're using $173M of cap space on Deshaun Watson over the next 2-3 seasons and they aren't getting anything in return. It doesn't make sense to spend more than the minimum required by the CBA over the current 4 year cycle. How they spend that minimum figure doesn't matter. The pragmatic approach would be to trade away current personnel assets for post-Watson era picks and spend the money saved on FAs up to the minimum spend level. Then again it's the Browns. I expect them to make horrible FA and Draft decisions in the post-Watson era, and I expect Browns fans to cheer and get behind those horrible decisions as they are announced. It's what Browns fans do.
You are off here on so many levels. I'd like to start by asking who are the "horrible" draft and FA decisions they have made.....please base those draft decisions on where the guy was taken in the draft and also hopefully know that most mid-late round picks amount to little or nothing.

As to Browns fans? I'd say in forums like these most are like you and make up things for which to rip them.

Was the Watson deal a disaster? Absolutely....but at time did make sense.

Not sure what you are thinking.

Garrett should bring back 2 1st rounders and a 3rd or 4th...
My guess is he will not bring back 2 firsts IF they were willing to trade him. Thinking Mack was thought to be on his level at time and if memory serves, yes, he brought back 2 firsts BUT Raiders also sent a 2nd with him in the deal.

I don’t think he’ll get moved then. You have to pay him. He’s 29. That’s a ton of draft capital. If that’s the cost, then he likely stays with the Browns and is unhappy.

I think the Browns might be willing to take that....unless it was from a team where these picks were likely to be very late round 1. I don't think a guy nearing 30 likely wanting to be the highest paid player at his position that is not QB would command that much though.

I also think if the Browns offered, say, 5 years, 200 mil mostly guaranteed suddenly Myles likes the direction of the team.

Is it likely the Browns offer that?

That much? Guess would be no, but maybe? do think they'd make him the highest paid DE and surpass the Bosa deal which I think is $34-35 mil per.

Do it after FA and draft he then can just say he liked the moves the team made (even though money the main reason he stayed). I believe Myles cares at least a little about winning but cannot think of any Cleveland athlete who talked more about his personal stats and awards he coveted more than Myles has.

I hate how you can't go back and fix a typo here. I meant not a terrible team.
My apologies  . I've had the same thing happen to me in the past. I wasn't looking to criticise. I wouldn't have responded had the post been corrected. If you think they're a decent team sans a QB then it makes sense to pursue another QB. Personally when it comes to the Browns i'm in the 'prepare for a rebuild in 2027' club.

No worries. As a Browns fan what would you like them to do? Kirk Cousins come on down? Reach for a QB in the draft? Punt until next season with a warm body next season?

I'm not a Browns fan and I have long since run out of sympathy for a franchise that has made umpteen questionable decisions in the Draft and at QB. I would trade player assets for future picks and try to develop mid-rounds rookies with a view to a 2027 re-boot. However, I could see Sanders being picked at #2 by 'whoever wants him most'.

I'm pretty sure Cousins would block a trade to the Browns, (unless he gets even more money). He might be prepared to sit on the Falcons bench for $27M and block every trade if not cut.

If the online scouts have anything to say about it there might not be many teams who want him. He could very easily be this years Geno Smith, Teddy Bridgewater, Jimmy Clausen, Will Levis.

don't think he's a Browns' fan but I am so will answer.

I'd certainly be open to Cousins coming aboard if Stefanski thinks he can get him to play close to level he did last time he coached him (as an OC). Not sure why you think automatically a reach to take a QB. My hope is they love a QB, he's there at 2 and they grab him. Obviously, sure, also hope he turns into at worse a solid franchise QB and soon.

No need to sympathize with any team I guess....though I'm not holding THIS regime responsible for any mistakes made before they arrived.

a reboot is possible and if so Myles meed not ask to be moved as he'll be traded without his request. But as mentioned they have pretty much the same team that won 11 games in 2023 (and most still young other than OL guys) so don't think a reboot is coming at least not this offseason.

Could see Sanders or Ward being picked at 2....IF they love a QB and he's there they should and will take him IMO. They don't care what chatter is by fans and media and they shouldn't.

IF Browns are getting Cousins it wont be via trade as don't have the money for that. Not sure why you think he would not consider playing for Browns as the guy played really well with Stefanski as his QB coach and then OC calling plays for him.

This is definitely a possibility.......but I doubt real FOs care what fake drafters think.

I have heard many say "the experts say......." but what experts are saying these things?

Lance Zeirlein, Greg Cossel, and Todd McShay are all fairly low on Sanders. JT O Sullivan, too, although at some point we are getting into a space thats not really experts.

Maybe the two best experts I think the average fan hears from is Kurt Warner and Chris Simms for better or worse and they obviously wait before they make bold statements. Its still up in the air obviously.

Is Mcshay the one who tried to become a real FO guy and failed miserably for Raiders (cannot recall which guy that was for sure)? Cannot recall if others have run actual drafts before. Cosell maybe?

I mean, wish I remember which expert it was who said friend of John Dorsey was told dorsey wanted Allen at 1.....and of course wish it was true (even though at time of rumor Browns fans lost their minds).

as said only hope is Browns love a QB, he's there at 2 and take them (and despite what fake drafters say they would).....but also agree should not draft a QB just because we need one.

McShay to my knowledge has never tried to be a gm. He was with Kiper for the longest time. Probably his biggest moment was telling Kiper that Jimmy Clausen was not a top 5 prospect.

Still, there are some people high on Sanders. All it takes is one GM

There definitely was an ESPN draft guy who became the GM of the Raiders. @DJ Fieri who was it? If he does not remind me gonna have to look myself.

and true about just 1 GM.....I laugh a little when some (not saying you) think mock drafts and predraft rankings are gospel. Team takes a guy well ahead of where mocked and instead of thinking maybe the mocker who is only guessing where teams take a guy could be wrong the real GM must have reached. It's nuts.

Believe your thinking of Mike Mayock, but he wasn't with ESPN but the NFL Network.
