Right....what's he gonna do...retire?I doubt he would go this far. Not like he is a free agent next season

Yes this is on the league, but Silver isn’t the guy for stuff like this.
No, I am sorry.
It isn’t on the league at all.
It is on the organizations.
Run your teams better!
The Blazers and Wizards haven’t been competitive for multiple years.
So, instead of signing a 30 something guard to a super max deal, trade him before he hits free agency, or let him walk.
People complaining about the Blazers and Wizards getting screwed over.
Sorry, the Wizards screwed themselves. Beal was a bad contract the moment he signed.
Lillard is obviously better than that, but again, Portland wouldn’t be in this position if they hadn’t held on too long.
I am tired of people trying to say Adam Silver needs to protect owners from the bad choices them make themselves.

I agree with you here
But I disagree on how dame is handling this
He could’ve negotiated a no trade clause like beal did, but didn’t
That’s why beal gets less flack or doing the same thing same is trying to do
Dame is taking it way too far. Agree on that.
But teams have to realize they are setting themselves up for this when they sign a star player to a supermax and aren’t able to put pieces around them to make them competitive.
It is bad business.
These max deals are handed out like candy and it devalues them.
That is on the teams that are willing to pay them.
You demand a trade you don’t take your super max with you. Fix it where you can earn it again but it takes at least a year. I know teams can do better but the system is stacked against them now with players signing things they have no intention of honoring.
Teams have to overpay to keep guys who are sub max
Part of the game when baskeball players in particular care more about location than any other pro athletes
Yeah, I get it.
But that is only because owners are out there willing to overpay.
You got to do it to contend.
But far too many do it anyway when they aren’t anywhere close.
Tell that to the fans, who need to be thought of a lot more than they are in all of this.Don’t offer the super max when you have a crappy team.
Love the idea of DD but he doesn’t fit around Embiid. DD is a midrange guy. He’s a more aggressive version of Tobias Harris. Except Tobias can stroke the 3 and DD never really added that to his game. I don’t think the Sixers match up for Lavine unless it’s a dump situation. All Sixers can offer is 39 million of expiring salary in Harris. What I fear is they include Maxey in that Lavine deal. Dame is worth including Maxey. LaVine is not. Harden Lavine Embiid is intriguing though. If Harden stays (and that’s more and more likely) the Sixers need to include Maxey, then I want to see Caruso come back with the trade as well. While harden is much better than Lavine….I still have no idea what Chicago is doing
They might be a player away if ball was healthy
They should be shopping DD
Him in a deal for harden is fun.

Except that when you are dealing the super max caliber player 9 times out of 10 you’re losing that deal.Don’t offer the super max when you have a crappy team.

I was thinking the LaVine deal would be for Harden. Not sure about picks. I don't really like it for either team.Love the idea of DD but he doesn’t fit around Embiid. DD is a midrange guy.
