I know. It’s just funny

The team that just won a ring can’t get ring chasers

Only 2 teams have repeated in the last 15 years.

So I would say ring chasers would be correct to look elsewhere other than the defending champ.

Doubt. He was always taking the super max. Beal just did the same thing to you guys. You know neither guy had any intention of even coming close to playing out the terms of that contract right? They manipulated the rules. They got the biggest bag and they leave crap in their wake as they get their desired situation in the end. We’re lying to ourselves if we say either guy was going to stay to play out that contract.

Beal and Dame both could have, and should have asked to be traded long before they did.

I don’t blame either one.

Especially in Washington’s case, the team has to be smarter than that.

Do you understand that they wouldn't have gotten the same supermax deal without resigning with their teams

They got.the biggest contracts they could and wanted out shortly there after

No.

Dame would have left instead of signing if Portland told him they were looking to rebuild.
Honestly we can’t say that for certain, and I don’t say that because he is greedy. He loved it there, nothing is certain.

Of course I understand that.

And both players were shockingly loyal to their teams for longer than just about any other star has been.

The Wizards should have traded Beal in like 2019.

Dame has been very up front with Portland.

He made it abundantly clear that he wanted to stay as long as they were committed to winning, but that he didn’t want to play the last years of his prime for a rebuilder.

Well guess what?

Blazers drafted Scoot instead of trading the pick.

So Dame did exactly what he always said he was going to do.

But make no mistake. Blazers started this by correctly deciding to go young.

One of them should’ve been traded to the other 2 years ago

Lillard signed off on all the bad moves

There’s plenty of blame

There was no deal available that fit that pick

Of course Portland should have kept the pick.

People making Dame out to be a villain in this are just looking for reason to hate.

Its not about being the villian
I dont blame him for asking to be dealt. He is not the first one
Its that he is limiting it to 1 team. And his agent poisoning the qell for other teams

Its a joke and a bad road to go down in and league

Limiting to one team and having your agent warn other teams off is a pretty easy and legitimate reason

Beal signed his contract with the Wizards for 2 reasons

1. It was a fuck ton of money; and

2. No one could give him more.

So he said these things and then still took the super max extension instead of waiting until he could be a FA.

He’s not a villain until he handcuffs Portland like he’s doing right now. That’s ass. It’s one thing to request a trade to a contender. It’s another thing to have your agent actively calling teams to say don’t even think about offering a trade for Dame because he doesn’t want to play for you and you’re getting a pissed off player. This artificially rigs the market and harms Portland. That’s when he becomes a villain. Up until then, he’s just another guy exploiting a loop hole to get a super max before demanding a trade.

So in Toronto Nurse had wing after wing after wing sometimes playing 4 at a time. He comes to Philly and his “wings” are Tobias Harris, PJ Tucker, Danuel House, and Furkan Korkmaz bwahahaha! Good Lord!!!
