Yeah I'm sure they shopped it but taking Scoot was their best option imo. You get a future AS on a rookie contract. Lets be honest, Dame was only staying if a trade like you mentioned above occurred....slim chance

I think last year I only got to see one or two Thunder summer league games. This season all of their games are either on espn or nbatv. Thunder are playing in both Salt Lake and Vegas leagues.

Boston signing Blanton is nothing more than filling a spot.

Rumor is that Boston would sign Grant Williams to two-year $44M deal and trade him and Malcom Brogdon ($22M) to the Blazers along with 2024 first round pick for Dame. I'm sure the numbers are close enough. Dame will be making $45M this year. Boston needs to shed some money to make the deal, but it makes sense for the Blazers to get a PG and SF and get a late first.

No.

Maybe they would have decided not to bring him back anyway...but I'm not sure he had even made it back to the locker room before they said he wouldn't be back.

Don't know for sure how his situation in particular played out. Not my business.

But if one wasn't such a star oriented fan you'd know that Memphis has been making such cost cutting moves every year since Ja Morant came aboard.

And you can't sign and trade a player with another player....sign and trade has to be a solo player going out.
