Can’t disagree but Dallas has to win NOW. When I mean now, I mean in the next two years while Kyrie is in Dallas + they could lose Luka. Unlikely the guy is playing 30 mins a game
Holmes going to get the bulk of the minutes at C and they brought back Powell also.

He played in 34 games.

That doesn't change the fact that he was injured. It was mentioned on draft night and can easily be researched on google

He doesn't need to. My guess is they bring him along slow then when they realize Powell is still a bum, his mpg increase in the 2nd half of the season

Yeah they made too many moves now. Gotta bunch of mediocre centers and a rookie

Lively is a legit big while Holmes is undersized and Powell is a bum

It would be in their best interest to use Lively as the backup big since you are not looking for offense out of him. Defense/shot blocking

he also was hurt most of his time at duke. Didn't get healthy until later in the season and you saw the difference
Despite coming in as the top high school recruit in the nation, Lively did not actually have the best start to his collegiate career. He averaged only 3.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game during his first 14 games at Duke, shooting just 59.5 percent from the field.

But then in his final 14 games leading up to the NCAA tournament, including his three appearances in the ACC tournament, he averaged 7.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 75.4 percent from the field.

During that span, per Bart Torvik, he had the highest ranking among all freshmen (even ahead of top prospect Brandon Miller) in the catch-all metric box plus-minus.

He was injured.

"Really, the second half of the season, Dereck has been on an absolute tear. His rebounding, his blocking shots, he's been scoring in double digits, too, and he's the ultimate team player."

Lively, who arrived in Durham with giant-sized expectations at No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2022 Composite, sustained a calf injury in early October, costing him critical preseason practice time and the opener. He then struggled to produce more than a few rebounds, blocks, and points per game across the first half of the season.

Scary but not scary. Damion Lee who is at the top of the list almost never played in the playoffs. Can they defend is my question?
KD and Okogie are the only + defenders it seems. Their offense was unreal this past postseason. Beal does make a huge difference but only one ball. They could definitely win the west nonetheless

Booker is a very good defender. Either way, if you are searching for a deficiency, it has to be defense. Personally, I couldn’t be happier with how the attacked free agency. Their biggest problem aside from defense last year was a lack of athleticism and three point shooting from the bench. They certainly addressed that,
