Really liked what we did....took Rob some on job training to figure out this GM thing.

Meh, he's been pretty good the whole time. He had one bad off-season when he went listened Lebron and AD and brought in Westbrook instead of going with the trade he had already set up.

He got the AD trade done, put pieces around him and Lebron that won a title, then made moves that off-season that had folks predicting another title until AD got hurt in the playoffs. Combine those with what he did at the trade deadline and what he's done this off-season and he's actually been good.

The problem was that the Westbrook trade failed so spectacularly, that it overshadowed everything else.

He appears to have learned from that mistake.

Beasley may have to settle for the vet minimum for a year until next offseason....unless a team has the BAE to use.

Hoping that if he has to settle for vet min, he'll be back. But you're probably right that he won't be.

That is a bad comp.

Brooks runs his mouth too much and probably distracts too much from the team goals. It isn’t a good look. He is also not that good.

Antonio Brown though?

Dude is straight insane and unemployable despite being a pro bowl level player.

That is not Dillon Brooks.
I don't agree with not that good. Not on Browns level for sure. If he ran his mouth less he is around Tony Allen level. He just needs to learn nobody is ever going to look at him attempting to score as a positive for his team.

His best is at Tony Allen. Allen did is consistently without fail, Brooks thinks he needs to score and it impacts his D consistency.

This.

Allen is a really good comparison.

He is a case study for what happens when a guy that will never be more than a role player basically demands he be treated like a main cog. Picture Memphis looking at him like wtf does this guy think he is?

You win, cool, congrats. Less than half what he would of gotten without being batshit crazy somehow means I lose. Fine with me.

He got fewer years.

Which everyone, including me figured would probably happen.

I did think a full max was possible. And it was. But the full max was not what I predicted.

His average contract value is like $42 million per year.

Pretty sure I remember you saying that he would get a 1 year deal or like 2 years for 40 million.

So no, what actually happened is nowhere close to in the middle of what you said and what I said.

It is like 95% of what I thought he would get and 3-4 times what you thought.

And you are here assuming Dallas is the only team who would have paid him.

If you were being real you would understand that there would be others would be lining up to do sign and trade deals.

There was always a market for Kyrie and you horribly underestimated it.

I did not realize Ingles got 11 a year. I have not watched close since he left the Jazz, but he has already lost a step then. Did he get his game back with the Bucks or something?

I agree with that.

Fact is, he got paid anyway despite being pretty inefficient offensively.

I like the Tony Allen comp.

If Dillon Brooks were AB crazy he wouldn’t be in the league. AB is way more talented and he lost his spot.

Just think you can find a pretty comp for Brooks.

Cool story. One team offered him less than half his market value if he hadn’t done what he did. 5 years 262 mil is what he should have had teams lining up to give him. I’m not petty enough or care enough to go back and look but as I recall I was saying he was headed to yearly contracts. On that I was wrong, but I don’t think I was as far off as you seem to think. If I was wrong so be it. I make mistakes for things that actually matter sometimes, yet people trust me with an awful lot. When my people make mistakes I tell them if they aren’t making them they aren’t trying very hard. That’s life.

Not really. He made 41% of his treys and I think he was brought in as a vet to mentor the kids. Probably play 18mpg or so....

If I’m Beasley and starting at league minimum, I’m staying with the lakers.

They have bird rights and can trade you away than team with bird rights to get more next year with a better fit

His game was always hit high percentage of shots, make great passes, and very good defense. Almost every team could have use best version of Ingles.

If he is 70% of that now he is still a valuable player, but not so sure he is 11 million valuable.

And?

Assuming he doesn’t retire or completely go off the rails he will get another 2 year $100 million or so after this contract is up.

Nobody said he was getting the 5 year max. Nobody.

He tough as nails, that and being a veteran is what got him that deal.
