I likely mentioned this in one of my wasting my time pretending to be Sixers GM while having absolutely no impact…

Maxey will have a low cap hold next summer. If this ends up with Harris and Harden’s 74.5 off the books, the Sixers would have roughly 35 million of cap to shop next summer IF they hold out on the Maxey extension. It’s a risky play with this new CBA. You could have a team throw money at him the Sixers can’t match without getting over the 2nd apron AFTER the Sixers would have committed 30+ million of that cap. Maxey is eligible for 5 and 200 million was the max estimate I saw for him floated in May. He may be a player a team would want to take a flyer on an overpay for bidding higher than the Sixers can match.

Yup. Wait 2 days and let the sixers use the mle and cap space…then give him an offer that does above the threshold

Strus would probably get a 3 yr $48M deal. Overpay? Probably so but Cle needs shooting. Would be a good start but they still have more needs

He’s played in big basketball games. He’s a two way player and a wing. Seems like just what the doctor ordered for that roster. So it may be what? At worst an overpay of 3-4 million each year? That’s not too bad.
